Problematic
Villa was largely as advertized - a bit tired, but for the price, fair, although the front door did not lock properly, which was clearly a problem.
The owner was quick to share check-in instructions, but when he was notified that the AC was not working, he did not respond for two days until I let him know I was contacting Vrbo. He said he would call a technician, but never responded to follow-up questions about when the technician would arrive (he didn't). More concerning - he also did not answer Vrbo's repeated attempts to reach him. Heat was so unbearable I had to book a different villa for the last two nights. When I asked the owner to refund the last two nights, he refused, claiming I broke the AC and the door (as if that's something a guest can break).
Warning Note about Vrbo - they take no responsibility for guaranteeing their listings.Their only answer to my issues was to attempt to contact the owner on my behalf, but ultimately they told me there was nothing they could/were willing to do, even though they clearly collect the payment on behalf of the owner. They suggested I take it up with my credit card company. No wonder their BBB rating is so bad.
