The mini-village Kamaria has only 40 inhabitants and some holiday homes are scattered around. From Kamaria it is also just under two and a half hours drive to Olympia, Mycenae, Epidaurus or Mistras near Sparta.
To Sparta you can either take the highway (90 km) from Kalamata over the up to 2500 meter high Taygetos Mountains, whose highest mountain, snow-covered in winter, can be seen from the terrace of Villa Pilias in clear weather. Because from here there is a postcard view of this mountain and of course the sea.
