Positive: location was convenient and easy to walk to most of the key tourist areas to include old Quebec. Upstairs bathroom (remodeled), kitchen and furniture were clean and as advertised. Concierge was responsive to concerns and resolved as best they could. Needs more towels available. Negative: (as noted in older reviews that I wish I had read). This is a vintage home and has had many unfortunate attempts at upgrades over the years (eg downstairs bathroom). There is still a lot of deferred maintenance that should be resolved before using as a rental (see photos). Many of these have been noted in previous reviews: locks are difficult to use, broken windows in back just covered with wood, ceiling leaks, broken tiles in bathroom and badly leaning staircase (like walking in a fun house) and not resolved after given the feedback by paying customers. For us, the added frustration was having construction workers that showed up early and worked just outside the kitchen and the washer/dryer situation. You have to go outside and downstairs to use the washer/dryer in a shared area. You also cannot use it until after 5 pm. This should be changed on listing for accuracy. We then had our laundry soap and dryer sheets stolen or used by staff period of time (concierge did replace). As a rental owner, I feel strongly that you should not rent for income until key safety and basic elements are resolved and not while the home is under construction.

Beautiful property! Big enough for a group of 8 adults traveling together. The hostess, Nina was very responsive to all our inquiries and gave great recommendations for dining options and taxi’s. Quebec City was a beautiful friendly and historic place to visit. Highly recommend staying at La Mansion!

Great location and accessible to downtown. Parking was very convenient, directly in back alley. Owners/hosts were communicative and responsive (ie needing additional towels, check in questions). However, the property is quite old and not updated. The staircase was crooked (literally) and uncarpeted (only bottom pad) which was not particularly pleasant to walk on. The second floor was extremely creaky and you could not walk without the floorboards creaking loudly, making it difficult (almost comical) to walk to bathroom or go downstairs. Both kitchen and bathroom had old cleaning rags left behind, bathroom was old/cracked and dingy tiles. Apartment was large 3 full bedrooms, one of which had side bedroom/office, so plenty of space, but not what I would call cozy.

We loved it!

My family of six adults spent five nights at Nina’s home. We liked it so much we’d stay here again. Nina is lovely and obviously put a lot of thought into making the accommodations comfortable. The home was beautiful and clean. The kitchen had what we needed and more. The seating was plentiful and the beds were comfortable. I loved all the large mirrors, high ceilings, tall doors- very fancy! There is a nice large dining room table we used for board & card games. The laundry room, which is separate and shared with the people renting on the first level, has multiple washing machines. Parking was right in back, super convenient. Great location! Merci beaucoup, Nina!

Location, location, location!

This property is in a beautiful upscale century old neighbourhood but within walking distance of everything. House is circa 1800s with very very high ceilings and a crazy tilted staircase. Bedrooms are very roomy but do note the clear description that one of the queen bedrooms is accessed through one of the King bedrooms. House is exceptionally well equipped. Facial tissue in every room, soap, body wash, etc. And the best was communication with the host. Nina was so responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Cool old house. Stairs are an adventure

Six of my family members stayed here for a couple of days before leaving on a cruise. Staying here allowed us to enjoy more of Quebec.Overall the house is nice. Not perfect but overall it was good. Our first concern is the stairs. Not the outside stairs which lead up to the front door. Rather the inside stairs from the main floor to the next level with the main bathroom and the four bedrooms.The first look at the stairs and you will think they are OK. However, when ascending the stairs you find that towards the top the stairs are not level. They all dip to the side. You must hold on tight when you get near the top.We also had trouble finding the cutlery. We thought we looked everywhere but could not find any. Then we found that inside the drawer next to the sink there is a hidden drawer. This second drawer is clearly labeled. You just have to find the drawer.The next fun item is the downstairs bathroom and shower. The picture in the listing make it look like this is a single room. It is actually two rooms. One with the toilet and sink while the other room is the shower. This shower is not spacious. My sister said it reminds her of the shower in her RV. Not large but it does work. Two of the bedrooms are not bad though one is not very big. There must be some cooperation with those who use the other two bedrooms. One room can only be accessed by passing though another room. This could be inconvenient.Overall the house is clean and in good shape.

Spectacular Location

Located on Grande Alle, close to some of the best restaurants the ciry has to offer, walking distance to the old city! The house itself is from anothwr era, the massive doors to huge bedrooms and living spaces makes this a great home to have friends come over. The dining room seats 14 easily! We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommed to others!

Fantastic stay in a historic home in amazing location

We had a wonderful experience in this historic home perfectly positioned between art museum, shopping options, ice skating, the Citadel, and downtown! Just off the river and parks, we were able to walk or bus everywhere, and parking was convenient. The home is vintage but updated appropriately and the 4 BR 2 bath setup was good for our 6 people. Wood floors High 12’ ceilings and elegant trim, moldings, and doors. Owner was very responsive. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy historic homes and a great location.

Excellent experience

We visited Quebec City from Los Angeles for the first time. We really enjoyed the property and in particular the beautiful living room and dining room. We had a large group (7 people) and all fit very comfortably. We walked into the old city and all around the neighborhoods and parks each day. The location was great. We found Quebec City charming and we had a great winter vacation in this property.
