Summary:
This cottage in Upper Vobster is a beautifully converted quarry building crafted from local stone. Nestled in a remote countryside setting, it offers stunning views & easy access to footpaths. Bright & colourfully furnished, it features a cosy lounge with smart TV, separate dining room/workspace, modern kitchen & luxurious shower room. Upstairs, there’s a king-size bed & double sofa bed. Outside, enjoy a lush garden with seating and a striking quarry cliff face. Private parking for 2 vehicles.

The Space:
The cottage sleeps up to 3 adults with a king size bed and sofa bed, though please be aware they are in the same room. The sofa bed is a small double (4ft wide) so could sleep 2 guests, but it would be a squeeze so it is not recommended. However, if you are desperate, we are happy to take requests. Please note, the sofa bed is only available on request and there is a £20 fee.

There is parking outside the barn for 2 vehicles of up to van size. Larger vehicles such as trucks, flatbeds, lorries or other machinery equipment aren't permitted.

The Neighborhood:
Upper Vobster, nestled in the Somerset countryside, is an excellent base for exploring the stunning Mendip Hills and nearby attractions. The cottage is literally 3 minutes drive to the famous spa, hotel and restaurant, Babington House (please note it is members only).

Nature lovers can enjoy scenic walks along the limestone hills, woodlands, and river valleys of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For adventure seekers, Vobster Quay is a top destination, offering an inland diving lake perfect for scuba diving, open-water swimming, and paddleboarding. Nearby, the famous Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge provide incredible underground experiences, with stunning stalactites, deep caverns, and fascinating history.

History enthusiasts can visit the charming city of Wells, home to the breathtaking Wells Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace. Longleat Safari Park, a short drive away, offers an unforgettable wildlife experience.

For a more relaxed day, explore Frome’s independent shops, cafés, and markets or unwind at a traditional country pub in one of the nearby villages. Upper Vobster is a fantastic retreat for nature, adventure, and history lovers alike. The historic city of Bath is also only 30 minutes drive. Here you'll find a plethora of sites including the Roman baths, independent shops, restaurants, pubs and more.

Due to the remote nature of the cottage, we would recommend bringing a car for your stay. There is parking outside the barn for 2 vehicles of up to van size. Larger vehicles such as trucks, flatbeds, lorries or other machinery equipment aren't permitted.
