Hawthorne Cottages Edgewater

Edgewater sits right above the shore, with stunning views from the many-windowed living room and the screened porch. Just outside of this cottage is a staircase leading down to the water. The picnic area in front is flat and grassy.

The second to last cottage in our villa, Edgewater sits right on the edge of the lake with stairs going right down to a dock. It has a nice screen porch and quaint interior. There's plenty of space in front for socializing and grilling. The 55" smart TV can light up the evenings for those inclined to recline but the view out the windows is even better.

Our cottages are accessed off of Meadow Rd / Rt 121. Off the Meadow Rd, some very lightly trafficked roads (some dirt, some paved) run throughout our cottages which are used mostly for guests to go to and from the cottages. All cottages have at least one dedicated parking space, most have two, and there is extra parking room in our cottage neighborhood for more.

The sandy beach and grassy shore area is communal (but private to our cottages) and many guests use the roads around the cottages for walking. There is a communal laundry shed with equipment freely available to do laundry as well as extra household supplies should you need them. Please see the guest manual for more information about the laundry shed.

I live in one of the neighboring cottages in May and June, but then move 500m down the road to the camp for the rest of the summer.

The sandy beach is private to our cottages. There is a boat ramp if you want to launch a motor boat there. The lake has a shallow approach and stays sandy far out. Panther Pond warms up over 80 mid summer. It is wonderful for swimming, boating, and water sports of all kinds. We have a few kayaks guests can use, and several docks.
Walmart & supermarkets, BK McDonalds Taco Bell KFC Wendy's & fast food, box stores are 15 minutes away. A few smaller restaurants are 10 minutes away.

15 minutes from North Windham with box stores, walmart, fast food, movie theater, restaurants, etc. 10 minutes from Raymond town center with a few nice little restaurants, gas, and family dollar.

This cottage is in a quiet neighborhood of cottages. Our guests need to be interested in a quiet stay without loud music, parties, or late night revelry.

Please note that this cottage does not have any air conditioning or heating.

FALL UPDATE: the cottage docks are now taken up onto the beach and so there are no docks in the water for guest use. This also lessens the open area of the waterfront available for lounging etc. The cottages themselves are unchanged and there is still open waterfront lawn.

Quiet hours are between 8pm and 8am
No loud music (anytime)
No fireworks
No smoking of marijuana

It is okay to have a day-guest or two who is not staying with you but more than one or two is not permitted

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find barbecue grills, a garden, and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
