Good hotel, but not so good service

The hotel and room were clean and comfortable overall, but there were a few things I was disappointed about. The breakfast was too simple compared to other branches of Best Western. The reason I paid a little more and tied up with Best Western was because of the delicious breakfast and the pool for children. However, this branch provided the most basic breakfast, which was no different from other low-priced hotels. Also, I tried to use the pool and hot top in the morning, but they were closed due to maintenance. The check-out time was 11:00, but they said I could use it from 12:00, so I don't understand why they had to do it in the morning. Finally, when I came home and checked my credit card transaction, I found that an additional fee I had never heard of was charged. When I checked later, it was a very small amount called a hospitality fee, about $5, but I was unhappy because they charged me without any explanation before. Good thing is the bed was very comfortable and clean.

The front desk person was friendly. She was there when we arrived and there when we checked out? Is this your only front desk.person? I hope she is not working 12 to 16 hours. This was concerning. I hope she is paid well.

This is our go to place to stay in Sylvan Lake. Reasonable rates, fantastic staff, and a very convenient location. Breakfast is always good and they have gluten-free and dairy free options. Rooms are spacious and clean. Jetted tub is large and deep and clean. If we ever need anything we simply need to ask and staff are always helpful in trying to meet our needs.

The receptionist was incredible and knowledgeable too, had a good and smooth check in with her. Perfect location close walk to everything handy, and the view from our room was the cherry on top for a quick little get away.

The room was good in itself but, i found a smoked cigarette under the edge of the bed. I went to the reception and was told that they would make a note of it. When i checked out i was told that someone would call that afternoon but didn't. I called the next day to asked why no one had cal and was told be the lady that she didn't know to call. When asked what could be done she said, not much as i booked though a third party. She did offer me BW points but i refused as i don't collect them. In my opinion the hotel could have offered a free night but didn't..
