Better to avoid. Hotel needs proper maintenance. Bath fixtures loose from the wall, so water's getting in, which might explain the smell. AC unit is loud and mounted right next to one of the beds. Which might be awesome if it's +35. Interesting black stain on carpet that remains sticky no matter how many times you step on it. Just little things everywhere. Also NOT a 6min walk to the beach, at least not the part you can actually use. Closer to 20min. No elevator, so heads up. Free breakfast is in the restaurant next door and your only option is a plate with a small portion of toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and paper-thin fruit. Drinks include coffee, water or hot water. No glasses or mugs when we went though. Asked to take a mug from the restaurant side and got attitude from the 'server.'. Apparently she had to touch it first before I could use it. Complained there should at least be juice for kids. More attitude instead of juice. But for some reason the server on the second morning brought my kids juice as soon as I asked. Mysterious. Complained to the hotel staff about the breakfast issue (since they should probably make these things clear so people know before they book) and was told it just wasn't a big deal. Unbelievable. Again, just stay somewhere else. Thought we'd try somewhere new this year. Learn from our mistake, people.

Included breakfast was nice, the staff were nice, parking was easy and good location close to the lake. However we got a queen bed and it definitely was smaller than a standard queen bed, but still comfy and slept well. The view out of the room went into an alley so not fantastic, but not a big problem! Overall good stay.

This property is beautiful . The room is gorgeous , clen, the bed is heavenly , nice balcony, desk , t.v, microwave, fridge , high end counter tops , spa like bathroom, quiet , very comfortable , beach is right across the street and down the side walk just few minutes . Even had a really nice breakfast included . Highly reccommend and i would stay here again as its great value .

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. There were no elevators, so we had a good workout going up to and down from our room on the third floor. Unfortunately, we were unable to avail of the free breakfast, as it is not a buffet. You had to order and eat at the restaurant, which did not work for our schedule. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom door handle did not latch properly so our toddler could easily open the door with one big push. The a/c was noisy, but we did not mind as it became white noise for us and we all slept soundly. The staff was kind and very helpful. Thank you, Days Inn!

i wish i knew the gentlemans name that checked me in, he was super pleasant and check in was quick and easy! the location is perfect because it’s far enough from everything that it’s quiet but also close enough to walk or scooter. i’m coming back to sylvan lake next month and i’ll definitely be staying here again!

The room was small and the in room coffee was terrible. The rooms cleanliness was poor and there were cobwebs on the indoor balcony. There were stains on the walls and on the bedding. The buffet breakfast that was included was cold and the quality of food was disappointing.

A really run down older hotel. The rooms are small, dated, and tired. But it's pretty clean and the staff are really flexible and friendly. If you're just looking for a bed it will do. Crazy price though, for that kind of quality. We had a problem when checking in because my 80 year-old mother, who is waiting for a double knee replacement, finds stairs quite painful, and we were surprised to find no elevator. They put her on the main floor, but she wasn't entirely comfortable there with us on the third. They offered to move us, but the room they moved us to had two doubles instead of two queens, which didn't work, as we're travelling with two teens. So back upstairs, leaving Mom on the main floor alone. She survived, but it wasn't ideal. I found an accessibility page in the Expedia listings, but it never occurred to me before to look there. I've never stayed in a major chain that didn't have an elevator. Breakfast was pretty basic, but again, the staff were flexible when we asked to trade sausages for extra fruit. (It wasn't a buffet but rather a classic egg breakfast.) We asked for orange juice but got something like Tang. Definitely not juice.
