Needing to make an early morning start for the airport, at check in, about 9 pm, i asked for a wake up call and a taxi to be called. There was no phone in the room but i was assured someone would come to my door at 3:45 am to make sure i was awake. No one came. The weather had got colder, so my room was on the cool side, bedding was thin and no extra blanket in the cupboards so i wore my coat and scarf to bed to warm up. The heating came on eventually and whirred undulating in the night. After very little sleep before a 24 hour journey, i was glad my own phone alarm woke me, proceeded to wander for some time with luggage to find the elevator, in long halllways and had forgotten which direction in the nondescript hallway -- no obvious sign indicating it -- a brown door like the room doors, with the number 3 on it and a small sign beside regarding fire safety. Upon finally arriving downstairs i politely explained that my request for wake up call had not happened, the elevator needed a clear sign, etc. And i found that the taxi had not been ordered because 'it would arrive in 2 minutes anyway '-- it was more like 8 or 10 minutes. Positives were that the bed was comfortable and the room clean and water was nice and hot and staff were friendly, despite mistakes. I won't be staying there again, though I'm not upset with anyone -- it's just that i needed a good sleep before a long journey and the safety net of a wake up call in case of oversleeping my own alarm.
