Hillside Cottage

This old house on the hill, belonging to the Sapountzakis family, our great grandparents, is situated in Mikra Anogia village, 3 km outside the city of Rethimno, at an altitude of 240m. “Anogia” in the Cretan dialect, refers to settlements or villages located in places at higher altitude. It has one bedroom, bathroom with shower and a living room with an open plan, fully equipped, small kitchen. Both bedroom and living room have a balcony with great view of the sea and mountains.
The house was rebuilt during the late 80s and served as our family’s vacation home for many years. Now, recently renovated and redecorated, combining modern and traditional furniture, items and family artifacts, among which yiayia Maria’s paintings, is ready to welcome you and encourages you to create your own vacation memories.
Mikra Anogia is a small settlement situated on the countryside outside the city of Rethimno.
It is a quiet and safe residential area, with small houses and narrow alleys, away from the traffic and city noise! There is no public transport, guests will need a vehicle to reach Mikra Anogia. Retail shops and super markets are just a 5-minute drive from Mikra Anogia.
There is free parking on the street, approximately 50m away from the house. The house is situated in an alley not accessible by car, therefore guests will need to walk that distance. There are two steps at the entrance of the house.

Ein Kleinod für Ruhesuchende

Wir haben die eine Woche sehr genossen. Schon der Check-in war sehr unkompliziert. Schlüssel steckte, und alles war "startklar". Die Lage des Hauses, etwas außerhalb vom Rethymnon ist ideal wenn man nicht unbedingt im Touristentrubel sein möchte. Die Ruhe, und die Möglichkeit mal eben schnell mit dem Mietwagen zum Strand, oder anderswo hin haben wir sehr genossen. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Ort um zu entspannen!👍🏻👍🏻 Würden wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen !

Wunderschön!

Das Hillside Ferienhaus liegt toll in einem kleinen Bergdorf oberhalb von Rethymno mit Aussicht über die Stadt hinunter zum Meer. Mit dem Mietwagen ist man sehr schnell in der Stadt, der schönen Altstadt, am Strand, beim Supermarkt etc. Einziger Nachteil der Lage ist, dass man halt immer durch den Stadtverkehr muss, wenn man zur Autobahn will oder Ausflüge ins Umland macht. Aber man hat es ja nicht eilig im Urlaub. Generell kann man alle Ausflugsziele wie Chania, die Südküste und zu Wanderungen in den Bergen und Schluchten perfekt erreichen. Man braucht aber einen Mietwagen, den man problemlos an der kleinen Sackstraße am Dorfanfang parken kann. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter lief freundlich und professionell, Schlüsselübergabe durch die sehr nette und deutsch sprechende Nachbarin vor Ort völlig entspannt. Man fühlt sich sehr willkommen :) Vielen Dank nochmals fürs Kümmern! Im Haus ist alles vorhanden, was man zu zweit benötigt. Auch die Küche bot alles, was wir benötigten, um uns auch lecker zu bekochen mit den regionalen Spezialitäten. Wir genossen die Ruhe und Entspannung. Da wir in der ersten Aprilwoche kamen, war es noch ein bisschen kühl und regnerisch auf Kreta. Die Klimaanlage im Haus machte es zwar warm, aber durch den kalten Fließenboden waren Hausschuhe Pflicht. Hier würde es vielleicht ein Teppich vor der Couch im Wohnzimmer noch gemütlicher machen. Bei sommerlichen Temperaturen kann ich mir aber vorstellen, dass man ganz froh ist über die Kühlung. :) Alles ist sehr neu, sehr sauber und gepflegt, WLAN funktioniert gut... was will man mehr? Wird auf jeden Fall gespeichert und für einen etwaigen Sommerurlaub auf der schönen Insel wieder in Betracht gezogen.
