Villa Petra

Villa Petra is a newly built, exclusive villa made of solid natural stone.

It is located on a small hill not far from Prines, just before Gonia and was built on a plot of over 4,000 square meters and is approx. 195 m² in size. It offers a fantastic view over the valley, the White Mountains and the Aegean Sea. The villa offers great privacy and unobstructed wide views.

Villa Petra has a modern, minimalist, unique furnishing style and is simply decorated in black and white. This means the typical Cretan stone walls come into their own perfectly.

The thick walls insulate and protect against heat in summer and against cold in winter. The air conditioning units in every room bring additional coolness on hot summer days. A wood stove inside and outside provides warmth and a cozy atmosphere even in the cold season. Supporting this: underfloor heating throughout the entire house.

Three spacious bedrooms offer enough space for 6+1 people. The master bedroom has a bathroom en-suite. Each bedroom has a double bed with health mattresses that ensure a relaxed, restful sleep. From each bedroom you have direct access to the outside area (garden/terrace) and can enjoy a fantastic view. Flat screen TV, Bluetooth speakers and a safe are also located in each of the bedrooms.

The two extensive bathrooms, which impress with their unique modern design, offer a spacious shower with rain shower, as well as a large double sink with mirror and toilet. There is also a guest toilet in the house.

In the living room you will find two inviting sofas for comfortable relaxation. Equipped with a flat screen TV, Bluetooth speakers and wood stove, you won't miss anything. The living room flows into the open kitchen due to the architectural style. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a large island with bar stools. From both rooms you have access to the outdoor terrace and can enjoy the breathtaking view.

The outdoor area, pool deck, is equipped with comfortable furniture and loungers as well as parasols. The dining area and the lounge area are shaded with a pergola. There is also a wood stove there, which creates an unforgettable, romantic and cozy atmosphere in the evenings. On hot days, cooling off in the spacious pool is incomparable. Directly near the pool area is the outdoor shower, which provides refreshment with warm and cold water.

A car is recommended to explore the wonderful island of Crete. You can park the car in the shaded carport in the driveway of the house.



The village of Gonia can also be easily reached on foot. There is a mini market, a very good tavern and a coffee shop here.

It is about 1.5 km to Prines and only about 8 minutes to Rethymnon.

You can reach the nearest beach after approx. 5 km.

Normal move-in time is 2 p.m. and move-out time is 10 a.m. If you want to move in earlier or move out later, ask us!

From 2024 there will be an innovation for tourism:
An eco-tax has been introduced for all guests since January 1, 2024. This is staggered by category and season.
The fee from March 1st to October 31st is €15/night per villa. For the months of November to February 28th the fee is 4.00 euros/night.
The amount must be transferred 4 weeks before arrival directly to the landlord's account, who will pay it to the Greek tax office.
