Dear Martin, We are pleased that we were able to provide you with an excellent stay during your winter holiday. Thank you for taking time to write a review and hope you stay with us again on your next trip to Iceland. Best regards,

Staff are for the most part very friendly and helpful, hotel is bit of the beaten track which meant an expensive taxi journey to the centre of town. The part of the hotel where we stayed was old and dated, property requires a complete overhaul. On the hotels own site they give the impression that they have a separate bar and restaurant, they don't, and if you look for a beer on tap they have only 2 choices and that's when the beer taps work. Also they need to teach some of their catering staff about safe hot food storage, a thermometer on the food storage tripped out during my stay, hot food in the storage eggs, sausages etc, went cold, this food should have been disposed of but was re heated when thermostat came back on. NOT GOOD.

Great room, excellent staff. Very good continental breakfast and lovely bread, the hot was less good. Location away from the city a little, but near the sculpture art museum. Friendly cleaning staff!

Great base for travelling from.

Pros: It was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Cons: Staff could be more welcoming and smiley on reception. Menu could be more varied and vegetarians catered for.
Location: The location wasn't ideal. Although there was a shopping mall within walking distance, there wasn't much else to do close by.
No complaints really. Some of the staff on reception could have been more cheerful but generally, they were helpful and most other staff were lovely. Breakfast had most things you could want or need. The restaurant/bar didn't really cater for vegetarians and there wasn't much choice or change in the menu but the meals were tasty. The rooms were warm, comfortable and adequate. I would be happy to recommend Hotel Iceland.

Pleasant stay

We stayed for 3 nights, the staff were very accommodating and expected our arrival. Breakfast was the best part and had a range of food which seemed to be available for people at any time which was good as we had an early departure. Overall the accommodation was clean but could do with some updating. 4 star hotel downstairs, 3 star hotel rooms but clean and pleasant. The staff were very efficient and polite.

Spacious hotel

I found one lady at the reception rude but its good that she transfered me to another receptionist because she said that her computer system was down. Room was spacious and beautiful. Buffet breakfast is good. Location is quite far from the city center. 40 minutes walk. But you can take bus 11. Bathroom is not that clean. You can see discoloration of shower curtains that indicates untidiness. The ceiling of the room need to be cleaned also. A lots of dust accumulated and i was afraid that they might come to us while sleeping. No shampoo and body soap provided only mild handsoap. I can give it 3/5.
