I liked the cleanliness of my room, but I can’t give perfect grades because I saw roaches outside on two different days. And one of my towels had a brown smear on it (that one got immediately tossed to the floor for a replacement). And the room had a weird smell to it. Like being on a beach near some old fish mixed with an old, stale cleaning scent. A lot of the rooms at motels/hotels/inns have this same smell, so it’s nothing new to me. But it is not welcoming. I don’t think it would be terribly hard for these places to thoroughly wash their linens and maybe install a few air fresheners or two. But again, I’m not holding it against them because sometimes it’s just the nasty guests bringing the odors with them.
