Stay in a vintage adobe mountain home with modern touches. Great retreat!
Mountain retreat 🩵🏡🩵 From my family to yours: Welcome & enjoy the unique experience of staying in an authentic, vintage adobe (mud) home in a quaint pueblo (town) built by my grandpa with my dad & family’s help. My grandma’s (newly renovated) home holds special childhood memories. You will create your own: relax on the 1.2 acre property, fish in the small river behind the home, hike, hunt, ski at Sipapu, take a short drive to Taos or historic Chimayo, enjoy local weekend farmer’s markets or dine at the legendary Sugar Nymph’s restaurant right across the street. The home is located at the town center on 1.2 acres with a small stream and river at the bottom of the property. Welcome & enjoy Franke, Pula & Polly’s Place. 🩵 🏡🩵

Lovely little house in the mountains
It is a historic home in a nice little town way up in the mountains. There is a small store, gas station, clinic, and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We were visiting for a graduation, and the house is only a block away from the school. The house is obviously remodeled. The wifi was excellent, never had a problem with it. We enjoyed ourselves completely.

Nice place, but .....
3 people for 4 days in May, 2025. Overall, a good experience, but ..... 2 of the bedrooms were true bedrooms, but the third used the entry room at the rear of the house, didn't have a large bed like the other bedrooms, didn't offer much privacy and was near the bathroom. A person using one of the "regular" bedrooms has to pass thru the other "regular" bedroom or the so-so bedroom to get to the bathroom and kitchen. This adobe home has a lot of space in the living room/TV room, in the dining room and in the kitchen. The adobe walls moderate the interior temperature. The kitchen has all the features and utensils you'd need. Well kept up. The so-so bedroom has the only large propane heater and the living room/TV room has a wood-burning stove, which we didn't try out. There are 3 portable electric heaters available to use in the other rooms. The TV uses Roku service offering lots of channels.. There's a nice family vibe about the place. As a tall person, I kept bumping my head on the low doorways into some rooms. The bathroom was fome, with one of those instant water heaters to provide immediate hot water. Has washer and drier with detergent provided, but the drier is slow to dry. Hwy. 75 passes right in front of the home, but traffic is light and traffic noise not a problem. Penasco has 1,200 people and not much activity, but has popular and excellent "Sugar Nymphs" restaurant across street. Town has medical and dental clinic. Elevation 7,600 feet. Large dollar store.

Vacation from hell!
I paid for 4 days, 3 nights stay. check in Monday, scheduled check-out Thursday. I locked myself out the 1st day and it took the homeowner 4 days to get the key. I used the house less than 24 hours, and waited for 4 days for a key that was "overnighted" from AZ to NM. That is just the ending. I WISH TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT. THIS IS DEFINATELY NOT WHAT VRBO ADVERTISES.
