I always stay here when visiting our daughter, who is a grad student at NIU…and she lives in Maple Park. Clean rooms, breakfast is free (not great, but free)…most importantly, it is quiet. Close to NIU… 20 min drive to Maple Park. Since they don’t offer housekeeping on the weekends, I can’t comment on that, but their front desk staff is generally friendly.

TERRIBLE DO NOT RECOMMEND

Our stay was less than satisfactory, the toilet seat was broken, the stains on the couch and floor were disgusting, no daily housekeeping and when called down to the front desk to ask them to bring up more towels, they told us if we wanted them to come to the front desk and get them. The hotel is in DESPERATE need of a remodel. When I complained when we checked out, I was told they were suppose to start in January but it's been delayed indefinitely.

They really should change the carpeting in room 300, the desk table had some real rickety legs on it Old coffee stains on the crooked thermostat that is not in order anymore. You have to operate the heat and air from the unit itself. Donovan at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We had hot water and a comfortable bed. It's just when you see that carpeting with that many stains on it, you wonder how clean the rest of the room is !!! My number is 715-299-8148 if the staff or choice hotels has any questions

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Rugs were stained and very worn. Room needs painting as do the hallway and exterior. Exterior is not very welcoming.
