Not very welcoming and strict rules

Be aware that check out is a very early 10:00am (and hotel will send constant reminders/messages to check you’re leaving), there’s a €30 surcharge if you arrive after 8:00pm, there’s 5 keys - which is a real hassle, reception is not staffed all the time and the man hides in the dark behind closed swing doors. All in all, it was not very welcoming and a bit of a time warp. Location is good though and it’s on a quiet residential street.

It was a good stay for the price, the heating kept going up and down on its own and the lights in the bathroom were quite dim. Excellent location for tourists and great service from the front desk.

Got there and the staff was super nice and accommodating. However got to the room and heater was malfunctioning and cleaning staff left the window open in December. Room was 45 degrees and took still next morning to warm up. Spotty wifi when working and they dont offer breakfast buffet any longer like they advertised. Not the worse place to stay but i wont be returning.

Terrible people They pretend to charge me 50 euros Extra in order to get in my room. What a ridiculous policy is that! Is a hotel and when I request cancellation they didn’t have the dignity to refund my money, they are a TOTAL SCAM!!

Overall the stay was comfortable in the hotel. What I didn’t like is; there is an additional checking fee of 30 eur if you are arriving the hotel after 20:00, even the staff is at the hotel after 20:00. So if your flight is arriving late, be aware of this.

A very friendly staff and right in the middle of Rome’s tourist attraction. 1.5 miles/30 minutes walking to the Borghese Gallery, .8 miles/20 minutes walking to railway station, .5 miles/10 minutes walking to the Colosseum and 2.5 miles/1 hour walking to Vatican City. Lots of eating establishments close by and we would choose to stay here again.

Hotel Artorius was exactly what we were looking for. The location was great with a view of the Colosseum as soon as we stepped outside the studio. Carla helped facilitate our early morning transportation to and from the airport and communication was instantaneous throughout our stay.

It is in a good location for the site seeing sites, yet away from them, staff are super friendly and helpful. Place is very clean and organized Will definitely stay there again once in Rome

Negatives: The rating on Expedia was Wonderful/Excellent. I would not say that based on our room. I’d say our room was maybe a FAIR at the highest. Our room was like a Motel 6 in the states. It was dark, gloomy, and in other building in the back of main hotel. We had no kettle until we asked for one. The AC was not consistent, had to get up to adjust in the middle of the night several time, but it did have a remote control. The bathroom shower flooded the bathroom so we used our towels to clean water up each time or spray to shower nozzle toward the opposite wall. For $260 a night, I felt it was not worth it compared to other hotels we could have stayed, but I went by the pictures and reviews. Maybe we just got an ugly bad room, maybe there are nicer rooms in the hotel. We did get clean towels each day, but bring your own soap & shampoo/conditioner. They only gave body liquid soap & 2 tiny bars of soap. Positives: The staff was wonderful, especially Lorenzo. He was helpful with restaurants.The location is great, but we like to walk. Don’t waste money on the train, as it doesn’t go to entire city. Be careful, I was picked pocketed on the express train back to the airport when leaving. Take a CAB instead!

This is a beautiful small hotel. We loved the location, easy to walk to sites, cafes and shops. Carmen was a wonderful host and sent several great resturant recommendations. Our room was on the street side and it was noisy, but city noise is part of staying in the city. Make sure to check out the quaint courtyard on location. Clean and comfortable.
