Fantastic location but the rooms need a facelift

Pros: The staff and quality of food
Cons: The tired décor and the lounge music on repeat during dinner

The hotel is set in a perfect location for exploring Symonds Yat which is beautiful. The hotel looks like is it under renovation which is needed. Our room was tired and outdated (room 9) but comfortable enough. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the meal we had in the restaurant in the evening was really very good indeed.
