Town: Roundstone is located on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay in the Connemara district of County Galway. Seals rock (Chloch na Ron) is a big boulder that looks like an inverted bath tub and serves as a landmark at the entrance to Roundstone harbour. Roundstone Haven is another name for the bay. There are a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes, stores, and a playground for kids at Roundstone. There is also a traditional Irish night in the summer and a number of events held there throughout the year. The remains of a monument to St. Brendan may be found on Inishnee, a small island in Roundstone Bay, and the bell tower of the Franciscan Monastery can be seen in the Michael Killeen Park. Gurteen and Dog's Bay beaches are only a 5-minute drive away, while other nearby activities include horseback riding, deep sea fishing, hill walking, and cycling.
