Meh-Would Never Stay Here Again

Right from check in it wasn't great. We got in our room and it REEKED of weed and funk. We asked to switch rooms. They accommodated very easily, that was appreciated. Once in the room and settled we looked around and noticed there was only enough room for 4 people. The listing said 5 people. I asked the front desk and she said no they don't have any rooms with pull out couches and they were sold out of rolling beds. MY HUSBAND LITERALLY HAD TO SLEEP IN OUR VAN!! 😡😡😡 We asked to purchase another room but they wanted $290 and it was already 8:30pm. The pool water was like bath water. It was NOT refreshing. Breakfast was lame. There were no extras like, yogurt or muffins, etc. it was waffles, toast, plain bagel, froot loops, or cheerios. Milk was a community gallon of milk. There was no attendant tending to the breakfast area. I asked for a wet washcloth to wipe down the tables and counter. The garbage was over flowing. I had to ask someone to empty it. The stay could have been a lot worse, but it also could have been a lot better. The housekeeper who let me take a couple of garbage bags for our wet bathing suits was such a sweetheart.

The staff was great our first room had a leak in the bathroom and they gave us a new room but that room also had a problem with the bathroom so he moved us again, third room was the charm no problems, and we had a very nice weekend.

I’ve stayed at several AmericInns. The room was satisfactory. The amenities seemed as if the franchise owner was spending as little money as possible. The continental breakfast was barebones and even the room had a missing light bulb. Staff was friendly, but the accommodations were less than I’ve come to expect from AmericInn.

The pool was down for maintenance and repair which was disappointing but I had the jacuzzi room so I was not overly upset about it. In my room - The light in the vanity corner was barely working and the light cover was partially broken. The toilet paper roll holder was half coming out of the wall. Jacuzzi tub worked fine but even with the noisy fan on which made watching the television less enjoyable because we had to turn it up so loud. The ceiling leaked water down in cold drips onto whoever was sitting on the right side.

Only saw one outdoor light at the edge of parking lot. No other businesses around so very dark at night. It is dog friendly for our dog and the only grass for dogs was behind the building which looked lit at night but no lights on the sides or front of building. Felt unsafe walking dog. Used the church property near parking lot. Inside furniture old and scratched, no bedbug covering on mattress or boxsprings, cigarette butts all over parking lot with some trash, at entrance of building during daylight hours a man with only pajama pants on, no shirt, stood leaning into car talking with people who did not belong at hotel. Breakfast was no big deal, all 3 cereal machines contained very stale Cheerios, coffee and oj were fine. Something missing from room doorframes, there was 1/2 to 1 inch space when room door was closed where light and sound from room was very obvious. This hotel needs lots of help. Too costly for what it is. Will not stay here again.
