Anne & Charles ("companion carpenter" who worked on all the structural work of the gîte) welcome you to an authentic country farm dating from the 18th century, carefully restored, nestled in a "cul de sac" on the edge of a bucolic plain of fields & meadows, on the edge of a residential hamlet. Pleasant preserved setting in the heart of the peri-urban countryside, very close to all amenities, a stone's throw from the vast wild forest of La Ferté dotted with ponds (literally "green lung" of the territory over 18km², to explore during relaxing walks or mountain bike rides), in a small village in the nearby "crown" of Chalon nestled on the banks of the Saône, famous for housing the home of Nicéphore Niepce, the inventor of photography who lived and died there ("Maison du Gras" labeled "Maisons des Illustres"), "iconic" historical site of world renown (visitable) where he did all of his research and discoveries and from where the very first official photograph in history was taken (the illustrious "Point de vue du Gras"). Spacious, very comfortable gîte. Large living room of 70m². Very elegant country style with contemporary accents, "Scandinavian" spirit, combined with a warm wooded mountain atmosphere.
