Set in the heart of the picturesque Wiltshire village of Chilmark, this characterful cottage offers a peaceful retreat for couples and families who love to walk and cycle in the great outdoors. The village sits on the Wiltshire side of the border in the beautiful Nadder Valley, home to a thriving local community. Visit the charming village pubs or head off to explore nearby Tisbury (3 miles), which offers plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as the Lido, a fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool. You’ll also find a mainline train station here. The family-friendly Longleat Safari Park and the ancient Stonehenge can both be reached within 17 miles. With the beautiful, ancient city of Salisbury and its striking cathedral only 13 miles away. The Cranborne Chase area is home to several popular golf courses or visit ever-popular Stourhead, in the care of the National Trust, where you’ll find fabulous walks and viewpoints, alongside the beautifully restored Palladian House.

Hang your jackets and kick off your walking shoes in the spacious hallway, before heading into the light-filled, dual-aspect lounge to relax in front of the gas fire. There are delightful views across the garden through the lovely set of French doors. The country style kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners with your tasty local fare, while the cosy dining room overlooking the garden is the perfect spot to relax with a morning coffee. The handy utility room is a welcome addition to the ground floor. As the sun sets over Wiltshire, head upstairs to wash off a long day on the local trails in the family bathroom before retiring to the super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin) or the twin bedroom, both of which feature lovely views to wake up to.
