Spacious, nice house but read some issues in the review.
The house is comfortable and spacious. Large kitchen and dining areas and two comfortable living rooms. Great character. Nice grounds and very nice hosts. The lower area of the house remained reasonably cool in the summer hot days.
Issues:
1. No internet - the description clearly states the availability of internet and it was extremely important for us as we deal with old, ailing parents. There is NO INTERNET and the host was full of explanations and apologies. It is not that there was a problem with the internet - there was never working internet and this is simply wrong description. We left early because of this and all the host offered were more apologies!
2. The hosts, while being really extremely nice and accommodating (really nice people), have little notion of privacy the way some of us might perceive it. Future guests have to know that this is apparently a working farm and they have some storage and warehouses under the house and in your yard. No mention of it neither in the description nor at check-in and we found people walking in and out of the house and yard without any previous notice or apology. It didn't bother us but we are renting may houses every year and this is not a regular and acceptable behavior. Guests should be advised ahead of time of such issues!
3. Cleanliness: the house was clean, clean enough for us, but definitely not to levels we have seen in other rental properties and especially so in the kitchen.
4. The upper area of the house, including one of the two living rooms and a large en-suit bedroom, tend to get hot is hot summer days.
All the above are issues we thought worth mentioning but on the same time, the house is large, kitchen is very well equipped, nice grounds around with beautiful vineyard. Very nice feel to all in a nice, rural setting.
