2/10 Terrible

If "we don't care about anything" had a name, it would be San Andres

I was so excited to come here and was quickly disappointed. Very disappointed. It's honestly like the whole Island just gave up for good after Covid... The beach was trashed. Like garbage and seaweed piled everywhere. Every cocktail I tried, was terrible. My shower was so small, I couldn't fit. I'm 125lbs... They close the beach at 6pm sharp. Hammocks and all removed. The servers and bartenders were rude and slow. I don't speak Spanish and this seemed to annoy them. I use a translator on my phone and I try my best to understand. Still rude and annoyed. I felt uncomfortable to ask anyone for anything. I came alone and to relax. The maid came to my room at 8am and music was BLASTING until 10pm inside and outside of the hotel. I felt so unsafe leaving the hotel because of the people around. Aggressive and loud. There was also nothing around the hotel. 1 place to eat for dinner besides the hotel. 1 that was open. Yet, there are current reviews and it says many places are open. So if you want food options or even just a bar, you have to go all the way downtown. I asked to arrange a taxi for my departure, for it was very early. Reception said yes and when I went to leave, there was no arranment. Luckily they could call another company when I checked out. I felt trapped, starved, like I was a burden. What a great vacation. I would have never come here had I known the truth of the current condition of the island and the incompetent staff. I've been to other small tropical destinations in Central America since Covid ended and it was nothing like this. There's no excuse. This was also the most expensive place I stayed in all my trips to Central and South America.
