We stayed 4 nights in a 6th floor room with views to the south. This hotel is a great spot between Nob Hill & Union Square. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly & helpful. Excellent little coffee machine available in the lobby!

The staff was good. The closet in my room smelled of urine. The staff did attempt to clean the room but it did not eliminate the smell over time. I just kept the door to the closet closed and it did solve the smell issue for the most part. Friday night there was an impromptu rap party outdoors that lasted to at least 1am right across the street. The area around the hotel is dingy with much homelessness. I don't know about the crime rate but I felt I needed to be on guard when walking at night. I still found the area fascinating with the degree of haves, a little have and have it's!

A beautiful hotel with history. The staff was excellent. The elevator was a little rickety due to age, but the rooms were very quaint and groovy. I would consider staying here again.

This is a converted apartment complex. The walls are paper thin, hallways a little sketchy, and the code to put in to get into the building and the room is annoying and too long.

Don't hesitate to book this hotel in Nob Hill. Great location and close to all public transportation. We stayed for 2 nights and the staff was super friendly. The bed super comfy and the shower pressure was amazing!! The area around the hotel was decent too. Nobody bothered us at all. My gf and I felt safe. Sure the walls are a bit thin but the price and location can't be beat. Heading back to SF in a few months and this will be our hotel of choice.
