Between the Montara Mountains and Montara State Beach there is over 10,000 acres of open space to roam around this secluded private beach house. Everything in Montara is within walking or biking distance. Wake up to the fresh ocean air and sight and sounds of the Pacific Ocean roaring in the background. Close to the beach, quiet, no issues checking in or out. Bed was super comfortable. Loved looking out at the beach and seeing the water. I could not figure out how to turn the lights on or if they’re were lights at all in the backyard on so taking dogs out at night was a little difficult. The gate at the end of the driveway doesn’t meet the pavement, so if you have smaller dogs will have to watch very closely that they don’t crawl under.

Overall, we had a great stay and felt the property was a good value for the price. The place is small and cozy, but very comfortable and well-equipped. It had all the amenities we needed—dishes, soap, towels, and everything for a convenient stay.One of the highlights was the setting. There are beautiful mountain views and even a partial ocean view, which made the location feel really special. We also loved how close it was to hiking trails, which my husband and our dog really enjoyed, and it’s not far from the beach either. There were also several great places to eat nearby, which made exploring the area easy and fun.The main downside was that the fire pit in the yard was broken. It would have been amazing to sit outside in the morning with coffee or enjoy hot cocoa by the fire at night. Some lighting in the yard would also make the outdoor space much more enjoyable after dark. Another small disappointment was that not all of the windows could be opened—we would have loved to let in the ocean air and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.That said, the place itself was comfortable and thoughtfully stocked. It’s ideal for two people, though a third could probably use the sofa bed if needed. Overall, it was a cozy, pleasant place to stay and we really enjoyed our time there.Already talking about booking out next staycation getaway here.

Great location a block from the State beach and a trailhead for hiking and biking with beautiful ocean views. The house is lovely, and quiet with a huge yard and it was great to be able to have my dog with me. Would love to come back again.

This beautiful studio was the perfect place to stay while we visited Montara! It gave us access to Half Moon Bay, the beaches and Pacifica. The studio was spotlessly clean, well appointed and the view of the mountains and ocean was incredible.
