It’s in the tenderloin of sf so prepare for that. The rooms are cold and make sure to ask for a towel. For the cost maybe worth it but wow that neighborhood is beyond noisy.

Dear Orbitz, this hotel didn’t have a heater at the time we checked in 2:30am, also in front of Rivera Hotel there were so many homeless people sleeping, such a scary neighborhood and unsafe location, I called Orbitz at 8am, and Orbitz agent said you can check out the hotel and Orbitz will refund my money, I did not see the refund in my account and I had to call Orbitz again, and the agent refunded only $115, I am very frustrated at Orbitz as to why they accept these hotels in their system and even though I checked out, why I am not getting my full refund??! I have been with Orbitz over 30 years, and don’t understand why I get treated like this?!

Walking to and from this place even during broad daylight is frightening. Lots of druggies. Room was small. Shared bathroom. No heat. Extremely loud. The manager was conveniently never there. The absolute worst stay in my entire life. Zero stars.

This property is not a true hotel and was in unacceptable and unsafe condition. The room we were shown was extremely dirty—there was dog hair throughout the space, dog food on the floor, and visible stains on the bed. The bathroom had no door, and the toilet did not function. Additionally, the overall building and surrounding area were unsafe. We were harassed by individuals outside, and there was a ton human feces on the sidewalk directly in front of the entrance. Given these conditions, we did not stay at the property. Instead, we stayed with a friend in Oakland that night and booked an actual hotel for the following night.

I am writing to share my recent experience at this establishment. While it served as a last resort for an overnight stay, I would not recommend it for a longer duration. I understand that this is a Single Occupancy Room (SOR) and sharing a toilet and bath with other tenants on the floor is part of the arrangement. However, the bath was dirty, and the noise from outside my room made it very difficult to sleep. It is in the TL Given these issues, I believe the price paid was too high.

The hotel was awesome and better than most in the area but the bathroom near my room didn't have a working shower and I accidently cut my hand trying to get the shower to work. It's nothing even worth mentioning. Security is AWESOME!

Satisfactory, but know what you're getting

Bare bones, low-cost, but clean and satisfactory Tenderloin hotel. Far more personality than you'll find in your standard Motel 6 type establishment. There is no bathroom within the unit. There appeared to be about 1 or 2 bathrooms per floor (~20 units). Those bathrooms seemed to be pretty inconsistent in terms of locks. But within each bathroom there's a toilet area and a shower area. Things were surprisingly clean when I was there. This could probably be a problem if there were too many people using the bathroom at once, but for a one-night stay, it was fine. As another review pointed out, there's no AC, and no screen on the windows, so it won't be ideal for a summer heatwave. However, there is a heater. We went in September though, so there was no need for either. Bedsheets were all clean and nice. Being able to look out the window at the busy streets of San Francisco was pretty exciting. There's a cafe, a falafel place, multiple corner stores, and much more, immediately outside the hotel. There's also a parking garage around the corner. The hotel was very secure, and only guests were allowed to enter. I love how classic and SF the narrow staircases and stuff were. And yes, there are homeless people in the Tenderloin. Grow up. Overall, definitely satisfactory for a single-night San Francisco trip. But know what you're getting, and don't expect Hilton level amenities.
