it is an excellent hotel but some tour guides dont pick up from this hotel. it is quite a bit from DownTown and from Airport. Furthermore, there are very limited dinning around.

Wonderfully quirky!

Hotel Casa Roland is a one-of-a-kind place to stay! It’s quirky in a fun sort of way, with original artwork everywhere. Getting to your room may feel like you’re in a maze! It’s very clean, the breakfasts are great, and best of all, the service is fabulous—provided by a friendly & extremely helpful staff. Highly recommended!!!

Hotel staff were super kind and helpful, the rooms are full of unique art, I love the Saltillo tile floors, it’s very clean, breakfast is delicious…overall an excellent hotel that we would highly recommend.

This will be my go-to hotel in San Jose

Hotel was beautiful, clean, quality bath products, hot showers from a hot water tank, recycling bins in the common area of our floor, gathering space with sofas in a common area on our floor. Some of the artwork had images with racial stereotypes of Black people, which made me a bit uncomfortable. We didn't feel any racial hostility from any of the staff or other guests (one of us is Black). The neighborhood was very amenable for going on a quiet walk. There is a lovely park a few blocks down the road with a track where others were also walking. From the track you have a view of the volcanoes and the airport and mature trees in the park. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a nice environment. Parking was in a locked lot. We felt safe and secure in the hotel and that our car was safe in the lot.
