The room was nice and directions to access were sent ahead so we could let ourselves in. There is some noise from the shared spaces but the white noise of the air conditioner helped to temper that. There are lots of shops and restaurants and bars within walking distance, and we could walk down to the cruise port to get on our ship. (Dragging suitcases across cobblestones is rough in some places, but that is not a reflection on the property, just Old San Juan in general)

I stayed at this hotel in San Juan and like its beautiful colonial style. The building is old in a charming way, with lots of character and a very cozy atmosphere. It really feels like you’re stepping into history. However, the mattress in my room was very uncomfortable. It was extremely thin and had a noticeable dip in the middle, which made it feel almost like sleeping on the floor. This was very disappointing, since I did not sleep at all.

I ended up staying at another property in Condado managed by the same company for the first 2 days of my trip and was actually refunded for those 2 nights as well, which I highly appreciated. When I got to Casa Las Ruinas half of the property had no power (not uncommon in PR) but the room I stayed in luckily had it. Overall it was decent, and clean but it was pretty basic single room with a bathroom and didn’t have a TV or mini fridge. Also the rooms can be kind of loud especially in the morning with what I assume were cleaners/crew in the hallway. Not ideal especially at 5-6 am. Overall it wasn’t a terrible stay, just not what I expected from the pictures. It is right in the heart of old san juan. I only communicated with staff via messenger on Expedia but they were accommodating and responded quickly. Also, I was able to park my rental literally feet from the property called La Cochera parking(it was $25 for all day/overnight and you could come and go as you wanted with no extra charge, so I thought that was reasonable for overnight parking).

Our stay was definitely a 10/10! The room was spacious, comfortable, and everything was clean and well organized. The shower was large with plenty of hot water available. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to consider upgrading the bed to a Queen or King size for even more comfort. Other than that, everything was perfect — highly recommended!

The property is still having renovations done but the room was very nice, bed was better than more expensive places we have stayed. Bathroon was spacious. The water wasn't hot as we are accustome to, but we didn't have any cold showers. Kictchen are a small fridge/freezer, toaster, cooktop and dishes. Balcony had a city view but it's in a city. That was expected. The staff we had talked to are very nice and filled us with knowledge to make our stay better.

Great stay. Beds were confortable and place and rooms were huge. The only scary part was that water will drip from the shower after use. Also, water from roof in a small area but they said it’s common when it rains. Overall stunning place, very clean, safe, in the middle of great food locations and it’s in the heart of San Juan. I literally walked everywhere.

We really enjoyed our stay overall — the room was absolutely stunning, incredibly spacious, and beautifully designed. The location couldn’t have been better; being right in the heart of Old San Juan made it so easy to explore everything on foot. That said, there were a few issues worth mentioning. There was a noticeable mold problem in the main hallway, and the shower began leaking in the middle of the night, which we could hear. We had originally booked a room with a balcony and were told we received a larger room instead, but we really missed having that balcony view. It was also a bit tricky to find at first since the map address didn’t match the one in the email (only about a six-minute walk apart, but still confusing). Even with those small hiccups, we truly loved our stay. If those issues are addressed, it would easily be a five-star experience.
