Beautiful hotel in the heart of old San Juan. Walkable to everything. Room was huge and clean. Loved the rooftop. Staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. While the staff was friendly and professional, our stay was marred by several major issues. We were unable to check in on time due to housekeeping delays, and on both nights of our stay, the fire alarm went off around 2:30 a.m., forcing all guests to evacuate temporarily. Although the hotel offered $40 in compensation, it hardly covered the inconvenience — we missed planned activities because of the late check-in and spent much of our time in San Juan exhausted from lack of sleep. For a property that presents itself as a top-tier hotel, the experience was disappointing and not reflective of the quality we expected.

Everything about the Decanter Hotel was amazing! Our room was clean and comfy. They have a coffee machine that is quick and has many options. The staff is extemely nice and friendly. The location is perfect for Old San Juan. I fully recommend this hotel!

Great stay with historic touch and within budget

Went for a couple retreat and I really was impressed with the hotel. It has a great location nearby places to eat or explore. The room has AC and fan but also very spacious! When you walk in, you’re greeted by the front desk to explain the hotel and amenities. They also provide a list of their recommendations for places to eat. The hotel has shared spaces and a rooftop. Staff of the morning is really helpful and servicial. There was no breakfast when we. And but they had a coffee machine and had good coffee! Would come and visit again.

The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was super knowledgeable and so helpful. The location is close to everything in Old San Juan. This is my go to place to stay when catching an early morning flight at San Juan Airport. It’s at most a fifteen minute trip to the airport and dive down to the cruise docks.

Upon arrival, the front desk gentleman was super helpful and funny. Strongly recommend the upstairs restaurant/bar. Food was delicious, staff was wonderful and views--amazing! Will stay here again when I am traveling to San Juan.

Super nice staff and the rooms are nice, AC not the best but we understand it is an old building. I would have provided 5 stars but we couldn’t visit the rooftop which was the only reason for selecting the hotel. There were a private event which I totally understand as they have a business to run but I would have appreciated if there was a warning during the booking process saying tue rooftop will not be available for the selecting night or nights.

Great stay

It was my first time staying here. Very cute and quaint boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is immaculate. The room was very comfortable. No loud noises. Very well located. I didn't get the chance to go to the bar but perhaps next time. Overall, it was a great experience.
