I feel that this review would have been a lot better if we had not been awaken to the sound that someone was trying to break into our room through the wall/connecting door only to find out that repairs were taking place and no one in the hotel let their guests know...unbelievable!!!!! Not to mention that the photo posted in this review is no where near the level of the room that we stayed in.

Me and my husband stayed at HOTEL RUMBAO for three days, and while the hotel is gorgeous and modern, we were very disappointed with the cleaning service. The hotel itself is stunning, with a beautiful design and great amenities. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to explore the area. At first, we were really excited about our stay. However, housekeeping never cleaned our room during the stay even when we asked them twice to please do it. We felt like our room was completely ignored, and that was very frustrating. Also, the bathroom wasn’t very clean when we got the room. It’s really disappointing when a hotel looks so nice but doesn’t provide basic cleanliness. Not sure if this happens often, but this will be the only reason why I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. The hotel has potential, but needs to improve their cleaning services.

Juan checked us in and was extremely helpful and friendly. Check in was quick. Parking was an issue as we didn't know we were going to have to park in a separate parking deck and haul several bags through a very crowded street back to hotel. Room was clean, but bathroom door slides and offered no privacy. Lastly, spa on rooftop was as cold as the adjacent pool. No controls anywhere to turn on jets so i assume it was broken. Area around hotel was crowded but felt safe. We stayed in a rental a few blocks away and that had more charm. Lots of dining and shopping nearby.

We had a great time! Perfect location near a lot of restaurants and shopping. The hotel was clean and was beautiful. Rooftop pool was nice for a late night swim.

A US$45.78 destination fee (almost 3 times as much as another Marriott hotel in San Juan) was charged without any explanation by staff at check in. We only found out after we came home that we were entitled to credits on on-site expenses including restaurant and cafe. If we had known, we would have saved ourselves money and time wasted in our searches.

They are short housekeeping staff so it was hard to get someone to clean your room. Our room was cleaned only once. Hot tub was not hot at all it was like warm!! Also, upon checkout I was being over charged and brought it to their attention, she ended up correcting it but the charge is still showing on my credit card. I called them when I got home and they said it would take a few days to show correctly on my account. We will see! Other than that the location of hotel is prime location.
