Stayed for 1 night for graduation at SLO. Other than the price gouging for the event weekend, we found the room very nice, and the check-in staff friendly. Pillows are worthless though, and there is a lot of loud door slamming at all hours. Sheets and bathroom were acceptable, and the refrigerator worked fine.

Very nice staff. Property old and outdated. Hot tub not working and dirty as well as pool. Had to be moved to different room die to first room being dirty, fridge not working as well as tv. But pleased they were accommodating. But with that said the price was very economical however regardless of price everything should still work as well as be clean. Overall not horrible once moved it was quiet and comfortable.

The desk clerk/manager was surl and confrontational. There was mold in thle bathtub, cobewebs on a wall ans a hole in the wall. Carpet was dirty and the hair dryer was broken.

Upon arrival, we experienced a significant delay at check-in. While the front desk staff member was polite, he appeared to be working alone, overwhelmed, and facing technical issues. We waited approximately 20 minutes while he assisted other guests, then experienced similar delays during our own check-in. During this time, he was also openly vocal with us about how frustrating and difficult his day had been, which, while understandable, added to the sense of disorganization and lack of professionalism. When we entered our room, we were immediately met with a strong odor of fresh paint and chemicals. Crumpled painter’s tape was still on the floor, clearly indicating the room had been freshly painted with no effort to ventilate. The smell was overwhelming—we were forced to temporarily leave and had to keep the windows open throughout the night. Additional issues included: • The fire alarm had been removed from the room. • The toilet was not cleaned or functioning properly—we had to manually open the tank to flush it. This experience was not only uncomfortable but also posed serious safety and cleanliness concerns. I’ve attached photos for your reference and am respectfully requesting a full refund for our stay. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution.

Don't be fooled by the pictures of the Lamplighter Inn! The room was dirty. The carpet was old and stained. There was hair and mold in the bathroom. There was no handle to close the shower door and it would not close all the way. The electrical outlet was so worn out that my phone charger could not stay plugged in. We went to get coffee in the morning at a local coffee spot and upon returning our keys would not open the room. We had to go to the office at 7:00 am to get the keys recharged and were hasseled for ID. It would have been better to sleep in the car.

The room wasn’t cleaned before we got in there. The sink was full of actual dirt and towels were still on the floor. The pillows and sheets had stains. The front desk person was very apologetic and tried getting us another room but even he wasn’t able to get 2 other rooms to open up (the doors were broken). At that point we just decided to get a refund.
