Great Escape

Beautiful property. Servigliana Was a fantastic and gracious hostess. She went above and beyond with little touches. If you want total peacefulness, then this is the place. Set up high in the mountains you can watch the sunrise over the valley. About 1.5 hrs from Florence and Pisa, beautiful countryside. Loved it.

Die Anfahrt: Michaela hatte uns gewarnt, das Haus sei "in the mountains and hard to reach" - erster Teil stimmt (das Haus ist etwas abgelegen: von der Hauptstraße geht es noch 4km durch den Wald den Berg hoch auf einer einspurigen Straße), der zweite eigentlich nicht: von Pistoia kommend fährt man durch San Marcello Pistoiese durch, folgt der Straße bis La Lima, wo man links abbiegt, und von dort weiter bis zum ersten Abzweig rechts den Berg hoch, wo das Hinweisschild "Torri di Popiglio" steht. Dieser Straße folgt man bis 4km bis zum Parkplatz "Torri di Popiglio" und dann nochmal rund 500 m, bis zu einer Einfahrt, die nach links abzweigt (sie liegt in einer Kurve und ist daher leicht zu übersehen, aber Michaela kam uns dort entgegen und hat uns in Empfang genommen). Diese ca. 20m lange Einfahrt ist das einzige, was man am Ferienhaus eventuell kritisieren könnte, ziemlich holprig und ungeteert - wir haben nach dem ersten Mal unser Auto einfach unten an der Straße geparkt und sind die paar Meter zu Fuß gegangen ;-). Das Haus: Die Bilder zeigen es ja schon: Das Haus ist außerordentlich geschmackvoll und persönlich eingerichtet, die Zimmer sind luftig, die Betten bequem, in der Küche ist bis auf eine Suppenkelle ALLES vorhanden, inklusive einer frisch gefüllten Zuckerdose, verschiedener Sorten Kaffee, Olivenöl, Gewürze, Tees, Spülmaschinentabs etc. Es gibt zwei gut funktionierende WLAN-Netze (den dicken Mauern geschuldet) sowie Netflix- und Primezugang, eine Bluetoothbox und Brettspiele. Die Bäder sind traumhaft schön und sauber. Es gibt mehr als ausreichend Handtücher und extra Pooltücher. Vor allen Fenstern sind Fliegengitter. Waschmaschine und Trockner funktionieren einwandfrei, sogar Waschmittel und Weichspüler stehen bereit. Alles war liebevoll für unseren Besuch vorbereitet, es lagen sogar auf den Handtuchsets am Fuße eines jeden Bettes Bacis als Willkommensgruß! Pool und Terrasse: Der Pool ist wirklich groß, hat eine Tiefe von rund 1,20 bis 1,40 (?) und wird von Michaela picobello sauber gehalten. Außerdem gibt es verschiedene Spielzeuge (Bälle, Poolnudeln,...). Die Terrassenmöbel sind schön, einen Webergrill gibt es auch. Die Gastgeber: Michaela und ihr Freund sprechen sehr gut Englisch und tun alles, um den Aufenthalt so schön wie möglich zu gestalten, sie haben uns wunderbare Restaurants empfohlen und Reservierungen für uns gemacht. Tausend Dank nochmal an euch beide!
