Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private room with a bathroom. Room was clean and place was very nice. Pictures are accurate. AC worked great! Staff is nice and helpful. Restaurant that is connected to the hostel is very nice as well! Lots of food options. This is the perfect spot in san pedro. Its right in the middle of everything. About a 5 to 7 minute walk along the beach to the sprinter that takes you to belieze city. We didnt even need to rent a cart, we just walked everywhere since everything was close by! They also have paddle boards you can rent for free! We used them twice during our trip and it was so much fun. Breakfast is free, it changes daily. Its not a huge breakfast but still tasty. They also have a WhatsApp group you can join that sends out updates every morning on whats for breakfast. You can ask questions or connect with other travelers staying there in the chat. A very lovely place at an extremely low price. Absolutely would recommend!! Side note, almost every day we took a few minute walk to get breakfast at Cool Beans Cafe. Its super close to the hostel and OMG is their food absolutely delicious, coffee is amazing, and I still have dreams about that place. Definitely check it out if you stay here!

My wall bed was clean , good matress Overall the ameties are very well maintained 9/10 Staff are very attentionated to clients: 11/10 Breakfast inclused was simple but almond flour cake was excellent 9/10 Constructive comment: coffee and breaker could be at 07:30 rather than 8:00 that would be more convinient for those having early activities.

I’d recommend bringing an eye mask if you need complete darkness because the sun does shine through the curtains and depending on when you go, that might be at 6:45am. The walls are fairly thin, so it was loud when someone slammed a door, but to be honest, I didn’t hear nearly as much as I thought I would. We rented a private room. It was clean, AC worked well, smart TV worked. We didn’t actually use it, but the rooftop pool seemed beautiful. Every staff member we encountered was extremely helpful and kind. They even called a taxi for us when we were leaving and helped return our golf cart. If you’re looking for a non-resort option, I’d HIGHLY recommend them.

The room was okay—very small, but it had everything we needed. The staff were great and very attentive. The downstairs common area where everyone hangs out and the hallways didn’t smell very good, which was a downside. Other than that, it was an okay place to stay. I would stay again; I’d just bring some Febreze. I’m big on smells.

Room was clean and thoughtfully appointed. We don’t spend a lot of time in the room but the hotel has a great bar and restaurant. We had WiFi and a smart tv that we watched our Netflix on when we were ready for bed. Staff was friendly, other guests were respectful. Pool area is amazing as is the location and the view. Don’t let “hostel” scare you - if you just need a clean, comfortable room to sleep and shower this is perfect! Private room had a queen bed and was about the size of a standard bedroom at home with a decent sized en suite. Stepped out on a little balcony space with chairs and a table and had a fabulous view of the water as well. Lots of stairs though and no elevator so be prepared if that’s not your thing!

First, they spray your luggage when you check in with bed bug spray so you can't touch your luggage after your check in because it's wet with this chemical. When it dries, it leaves a white residue on your luggage. I touched it when I was getting into my bag and forgot it was on there. I then rubbed my eye and then my eye we burning. The staff are not very friendly or helpful. There are only 2 toilets and 3 showers for the whole floor which was not enough. The bathrooms were never cleaned and really gross. There was not any hot water. There was an air conditioner in the dorm that was set at 25 degrees. You couldn't adjust it. I asked if it could be lowered since everyone in my dorm talked about how warm it was but I was told no. The room was very stuffy since the beds are like pods and closed off so no air circulates. The room was also musty with all the wet clothes that never dried out. There were also long term guests in the dorm and they seemed to take it over. It sounded like they lived there for months at a time. One was a 70+ year old woman who had a desk and chair just for her. The room was cluttered with so much stuff because people lived there. Lastly, there was a couple next to my bed so I got to hear their foreplay all night long. They were able to book the bed this way and it was not just two beds booked and they used one. Couples shouldn't be allowed to sleep in the same bed if they are going to kiss, moan, whisper, and make sucking noises all night.

We stayed at Sandbar Hostel & Hotel in a private room and had a great experience. The room was excellent value and included strong AC, a safe, large TV, private bathroom, private balcony, and clothing rack. Like many hotels in this category, the shower wasn’t fully enclosed so a bit of water splashed onto the mat, but it was very minor. The bed was comfortable (about an 8/10 for me), and the balcony was perfect for drying beach towels quickly. The rooftop patio was a highlight. Watching the sunset with a cocktail was fantastic, and Juan, the bartender, was excellent. The freshwater pool and variety of seating areas made it easy to relax. Service was outstanding. Allen at the front desk was efficient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay top notch. Housekeeping was also excellent, with every clean feeling like a full reset. The attached Sandbar restaurant was reliable and open until 11:00 pm, which is rare in San Pedro and a huge perk after diving. Chuck and Robbie’s dive shop is about 100 feet away, and there’s a grocery store (Kmart) right around the corner. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Amazing place to stay. They provide free paddleboarding, washing machine + dryer. Have a rooftop lounge and bar, and a restaurant right next to it. And the price quality is incredible. Definitely a 10/10. The only thing they could do to improve is organizing afternoon/night activities to go to bars and socialize, but the WhatsApp group is also useful for it.

Rooms were clean and very affordable, only issue was disruptive guests coming in and out of the dorm being loud and turning lights on, I think if dorm rules were unforced it would be more pleasant. Maybe having dorms for older people would help. Staff was great and always cleaning and being helpful, the facilities were top notch! Restaurant was great, prices were affordable and staff are there to help with all your needs. Also bathrooms and common areas were very well maintained I’m hoping to stay again soon

Stayed in an 8 woman bunk room. Beds were comfortable and it was pretty quiet except for one woman who snored one night. Bathrooms were very clean, hot water, outlets. Appreciated the WhatsApp messaging that allowed us to team up to partake in day events like snorkeling and Secret Beach. Greatly benefited from the free washer and dryer. About a 7 minute walk to the Caribbean Sprinter water taxi. The attached Sandbar Bar and Grill was fabulous. Will be back!

This place is great! I meet so many awesome people. The beds are super comfortable!! Definitely the best hostel beds I've ever slept in. And, ALLEN, at the front desk, IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! So are the bartenders at the attached bar/restaurant. Fyi, you will probably like Caye Caulker way more. But the hostels are terrible on that island. So I stayed here and ferried over to Caye Caulker.
