Wife and I came to Cambria/San Simeon for a 3 night getaway with our Pug. We chose this hotel for 2 reasons, pet friendly (at no additional charge!) and the location. We chose an Ocean Front Delux room, and location and view were amazing. First day we had the most incredible sunset you could imagine. The perfect way to start off the long weekend. Location and property were amazing for this price range. No complaints all there. And the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Now the downsides to be aware of. The rooms are aging a bit. Not a big deal if you don't plan on spending much time in the room. There are 2 mini fridges, one with items for purchase, and another empty one for your items, The empty one wasn't working. WMaintenance came, very nice, he mentioned that the mini fridges aren't very good and don't function properly. Hmm. One of the lounge chairs in the room had no stuffing in the back of it at all. They were covered with nice "covers", and looked fine, but when you sat in it you felt like you were falling through the back of the chair. Front desk, said the owners have been promising to upgrade furniture forever, but have yet to do it. Hmm... Lastly, we orderd food in one night, lit the fireplace, and were looking forward to streaming a movie or our favorite TV show. TV was absolute garbage and useless. Every channel was snowy, and no way to hook up my laptop to stream. Had to watch on Laptop. Disappointing. :(

The room was nice, everything was clean. The bedding and pillows were very good quality and the bed was very comfortable. The office staff were very nice and helpful. The location is perfect, the view is great, they light bonfires with a view of the ocean every night at sunset

We loved everything about our stay at the Cavalier Resort especially our room with its fireplace, patio and ocean view. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we liked the convenience of a restaurant at the property. The surrounding area is serenely beautiful, and we will be look forward to our next stay at the Cavalier Resort in San Simeon.
