Located in Salzburgland, Sankt Margarethen im Lungau is also known as the valley town and a hotspot for the top ski resort Katschberg/Aineck The small town offers several amenities for your daily needs and a fine selection of restaurants.

The famous Katschberg/Aineck ski resort is THE ski area for a perfect skiing and winter holiday! Situated directly between the states of Salzburg and Carinthia, it offers 80 kilometres of slopes for both relaxed and sporty skiing and snowboarding, along with 17 modern lifts and snow safety thanks to its altitude of 1,170-2,220 m. With the neighbouring Grosseck-Speiereck ski area, the small, family-friendly ski area of Fanningberg, and the well-known Obertauern ski area, there are approximately 250 kilometres of slopes accessible throughout the entire ski area.

Located between the local mountains of Aineck and Trainwald, Sankt Margarethen im Lungau is also an ideal starting point for numerous summer activities in the Salzburg Lungau region.
