The property itself is lovely. The only issue I had was that there was no warning that it was only upstairs and that the stairs were steep. We had someone involved with medical equipment and hauling that up and down the stairs was difficult. The room, however, was lovely and the people were all very, very nice.

Nice hotel but needs to update the rooms.

It’s a lovely hotel. The service at check in was good, the hotel is clean and the pool and hot tub are were enjoyed. However.. the hotel needs updates especially for the price. The floor was so loud when you walked on it that we were awakened at night each time someone had to go to the bathroom or walk anywhere. It squeaks very loudly due to being so old and carpet definitely is past its time. The sofa beds are incredibly uncomfortable and made the sleep very bad for those that slept on them. It’s unfortunate because we liked the hotel and the location but the quality of the rooms made it much less enjoyable.

Sister’s Annual Trip in Santa Barbara

I booked a long weekend for our Annual Sister’s Trip. We chose a suite at this hotel for the square footage (we needed space since there were 3 of us), the location and overall value. We took the beach cruisers (bikes) out for a half day and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the scenic coastal rides and the perfect weather. The morning continental breakfast was nice for those mornings we didn’t want to go out and if we were motivated, we could have cooked in our room because it had a full kitchen. We enjoyed the nightly happy hours and meeting great guests, the jacuzzi, the extensive dvd library and watching movies in the king bed. The only comments I have is hotel is not to allow guests to take the dvd binder to their room, or at the very least, have a photo copy of the movies for other guests to review. The king bed was super comfy, but the hotel rooms could use a refresh…the styling is very outdated. More modern decor would have made our experience near perfect.

This is a cool hotel. Very large room, lots of little details in the design and execution. It was a shame to have arrived so late that we couldn't fully enjoy the experience. Breakfast is limited but enjoyable; we had plenty to eat to get on with our day. My only negative is that there is no elevator so the second floor rooms require carrying luggage up the stairs.
