The biggest issue was the amount of light coming into the guest bedrooms early in the morning. The transom windows and built-in blinds on the French doors did very little to block sunlight, so the rooms were bright by about 5:45 each day. With young kids waking up with the sun, the whole house was awake very early. The primary bedroom had heavy curtains, and adding something similar to the guest rooms would make a huge difference.The bunk bed was also much higher than expected. Our five yr old, who normally sleeps in a standard bunk bed at home, was uncomfortable climbing up to the top bunk because of the height — it’s seriously very high. We ended up having to rearrange sleeping arrangements for our kids, which wasn’t ideal.The other main issue was the mattress in the second guest bedroom. It was a very firm memory foam mattress that somehow also sank in at pressure points, and I personally found it quite uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on the couch most nights instead.That said, there were several things we really appreciated about the home. The location was great, and the public beach access was only a four-minute walk from the front door to the sand. There was also a great assortment of beach gear available. Overall, we would recommend this home. However, if you’re traveling with kids who will need to use the bunk bed, prefer darker rooms for sleeping in, or enjoy a softer mattress, it may be worth confirming whether those items have been addressed before booking.
