Very disappointed

I got there and was told by the person who owns the property that it wasn’t available for renting, so I had no where to stay and had to pay for a hotel room for me and friends, even though I had already paid for this property through Vrbo. Then each time I contacted Vrbo I was on hold for at least an hour and a half before being allowed to speak to someone that could “help” me. After 2 days of called I was told to pick from a few different locations and I would be put in a new location, 24 hours later I get an email saying Vrbo can’t put me in a new location, I’ll have to find one on my own, so that’s 3 days of paying for hotel rooms for me and my friends. The email also said all I can do is start the refund process, but how did that help me find a place to stay? I was extremely disappointed in this whole process
