Did not enjoy the beach. It has too much seaweeds. The beach is very shallow and not swimable. There are too many boats etc. on a small beach that smells like gasoline all the time. The pool is large and nice but it’s basically a playground for children and young people. It’s hard to enjoy the pool. The food was not good. The staff seemed nice and hardworking.

I've stayed several times, and it was my best experience so far. prior stays had small issues, but this one was almost perfect! check in was a bit slow, other than that, all was good! room was great! ac was cold! Wi-Fi worked well and the food was good

I had never stayed at an all inclusive resort. This is the budget version with a fantastic beach. Which is why we visit. The AC was cold but leaked like it was raining in our bathroom. Room 6406, it is also on the side of the stage. So it was loud from 8-10pm but promptly takes the party to the disco. This time of year it is locals only who really want a vacation with their families. It was wonderful to see them all enjoying themselves. The food was average but plentiful. Plus lots of options to eat on the beach or roadside. Just don’t go alone or too late at night. It was a bit dirty during the day but everything was set to rights by the morning. Tip the staff, they work hard. Overall it is a good hotel that might be a bit overpriced but again it comes with unlimited Presidente beer on draft (bring a big cup) and rum drinks! We definitely got our money’s worth.

There was little to like. Extreemly noisy, unable to sleep. no elevators to the 4th floor or any other floor. waiters were fraternizing and not providing service to the guests. hotel locate4d in a very unsafe part where everybody from outside can come in. no visible security.

El peor servicio ,allí ni buenos dias dicen . La comida un asco, siempre fría , comida como de días , pollo duro, moscas en todos lados , café frío. Malos olores, la habitación con colchones rollidos el agua q sale del lavabo apestaba a agua aposada de cisterna vieja. Nunca te limpian el baño yo estuve 5 días y nada , solo cambian la sábana . Un costo pagado exagerado de 735 por 5 días . Eso allí n vale ni 350. N hay seguriad ni nadie en la entrada , por allí entra cualquiera a una habitación. Empleados en la cocina con ropa sucia y manchada de semanas quien sabes más. En resumen comida malísima, limpieza grave, atención malísima !! Jamás volvería a ese lugar ,0 recomendado. Ahaha no tienen plancha, no caja de seguridad, no toallas de playa .....para todp esto tienes que dejar depósito. Que carajos !!

Amazing location with the most amazing beach.

For the price is was excellent. Clean ! Pool area and the beach was beautiful the view the room was extremely big. Just not many restaurants as other all have inclusive hotels. But it was worth the money

Never again! Can’t relax on the beach cause you’re constantly getting harassed by street vendors, the rooms are dirty and the sheets were unspeakable, the pool was dirty with so much human hair and the flies on the food they serve was absolutely disgusting!

I had An amazing time here for my birthday vacation. There is a lot of friendly staff, unfortunately I didn’t realize that your braclet doesn’t work for all the restaurants except the buffet. Literally the only downside was the buffet food and everything else was amazing.

I have stayed at every resort between Boca Chica and Juan Dolio, and i would rate this one at the top. Whala! is by no means a Punta Cana quality resort, but it was ok for a short stay. This is definitely an attractive destination for locals. I would estimate that during my stay, more than 90% of the guests were locals. The check-in processes was probably the worse experience during my stay. It was slow and hot. But the limited staff were friendly. The food was better than the other resorts in the area, even the buffet. However, selections are very limited. The italian restaurant was good, not great. The beer quality was ok, and the wine not so much. I recommend bringing your own bottle of something. My room was a waterfront and it had an excellent view. Bed quality was so so, bedding cheap, and refrigerator only comes with 2 bottles of water that are not replenished. The expectation is for guests to take a water pitcher down to the hallway water dispenser and take it back to the room. That's not my thing. Housekeeping was magnificent. All in all, it is not a luxury stay, but if you are in the Santo Domingo area and want a couple days on the beach, this might be a good place to do that. But beware, there may be a lot of kids making some noise.
