Moose Cabin on Lake Colby, Saranac Lake

Moose Cabin is directly on Lake Colby and has its own charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit with Adirondack chairs outside. Moose is one of 4 cabins on the same property. Each cabin is distinct and private, but shares our private beach and water crafts. Each cabins is about 25 feet from the next, with trees separating them. The cabins have all of the amenities of home, decorated in the rustic Adirondack decor. Lake Colby is known for it's excellent fishing. Enjoy our private "beach", dock, and 9 watercraft.

Moose Cabin has two Queen Bedrooms, a Queen sleeper sofa futon in the living room. This cabin can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children maximum. Moose also has two full bathrooms, one of which has a Jacuzzi tub. Fresh towels and linens and bathroom essentials are provided.

Moose Cabin has a fully stocked kitchen including spices, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, crock pot, teapot, blender, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, dishwasher, drip and Keurig coffee machines. The cabin is heated by a gas fireplace and also has ductless air conditioning and heat. You'll find a smart TV and all of the comforts and amenities of home provided in Adirondack decor.

This cabin is a 2-minute walk to the public beach and a 1-minute drive to the public boat launch.
It's a 4-minute drive to downtown Saranac Lake
Or a 2-minute drive to Mt. Pisgah.
Whiteface is a 45-minute drive.
Titus mountain is a 45 minute drive.

During boating season, guests can enjoy our private beach and dock and use any of our 9 boats: 2 row boats, 3 canoes, 3 full size kayaks and a child size kayak. Lake Colby is known for it's excellent fishing of rainbow and brown trout, salmon, largemouth and smallmouth bass. The DEC stocks Lake Colby! Maximum 10 hp motors can be used on this lake. Boating is available between May 1st and October 31st unless water temperatures are unsafe.

Lake Colby is part of the greater Saranac Lake Community, which offers many tourist attractions, including hiking, snow skiing, zip lines, golf, and amazing food. Saranac Lake is surrounded by some of the most scenic hiking trails on the East Coast.

The Village of Saranac Lake boasts wonderful restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops. Colby Cabins are a 2 minute drive from Mt. Pisgah, a small family mountain offering downhill skiing, tubing and snow boarding on lit trails. Saranac Lake is surrounded by some of the most scenic hiking trails on the East Coast.

Let us know if you would like to book one, two, three, or four cabins. The individual cabins are not available for booking during the summer season; rather we book all 4 cabins together (see separate listing) with check-in/-out only on Saturdays.

We welcome dogs less than 80 lbs. We have a pet fee of $100. Pets must be cleaned up after returning from outside and crated if left alone in the cabin.
During your stay at this cabin, you'll be within walking distance of Adirondack Health. The cabin offers a kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

Saranac Lake Winter Carnival 2025

This was the first stay at the Cabins at Colby Lake for myself and a group of friends. I rented the Moose Cabin and loved it! I heard about this place from good friends who had stayed here a couple of years ago. We got in Thursday night for a 4 night stay, with skiing, Carnival fun in Saranac with the Parade, live music, the ice castle, and fireworks. We had camp fires lake side at night and wrapped the weekend with a Superbowl party! All in all a great winter trip. Would love to come back in the Summer too. The site was great and so close to our friends staying at this group on cabins which was very convenient to walk back and forth next door. Great communication with the property owner and easy check in and out. All in all a wonderful experience!

Moose Cabin

The property was great. The cabin had everything that you could want.Colby lake was great for fishing. The only problem was the property was too close to RT 86. It certainly was not a quiet location. The light from the electric company on Rt 86 came on at 6:30 and were on all night.

Amazing cottage, wonderful views, listened to a loon every morning. Would definitely return. Close to Lake Placid to finalize wedding plans. Actually bought an oil painting of the rowboat by a dock that reminded us of our view and stay.

Wonderful lakeside cabin

We had a lovely 3-day stay. The cabin is beautiful and the pictures represent it well. The picture window overlooking the lake is a glorious way to start a morning, and the deck and fire pit are wonderful ways to take in the lake in a quiet setting. We also enjoyed the beach a short walk away. The location is great- a mile or so outside of town and close to hiking trails. The kitchen was clean and fully outfitted to cook, and we took advantage of that a lot. We’d happily stay again.

An Adirondack gem

Loved everything about this spot. The cabin was warm, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We were able to ride our snowmobiles across Lake Colby to the trail. Great accommodations, gorgeous kitchen, and beautiful views through the huge picture windows. Will definitely book again.

Peaceful Getaway

The cabin was just right…all the supplies you need, all the comfort you need, and all the activities to keep the family entertained. We loved being able to just step outside and enjoy the lake, whether fishing, boating, reading a book in the hammock, or a chilly night time fire. All of the necessities are within a 7-minute drive (groceries, pharmacy supplies, restaurants, gas, etc.), and in just a short 20-minute drive, you can be in Lake Placid. The owners were responsive to our questions and proved clear instructions for check-in and out, as well as clear instructions for how to use everything in the cabin and to access local resources. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful view, peaceful surroundings

We had a nice time in the area. Cabin was well equipped. The view is awesome. You do get a little road noise when sitting outside, but the short distance to the road is nice if you want to do things in the area. Floors do slant, which made it a bit more difficult for my 74 and 83 year old parents. Cabin was a little dusty/cobwebby in the corners, but main areas were very clean and appealing. We loved all the toy and decorative moose in the cabin. (Note: If taxidermy bothers you, this isn't the place for you.)

It was a beautiful location and the owner made sure everything was available in case we forgot something. It was nice to be able to get in the car and drive to some great restaurants within a couple of minutes. My only negative comment is that the beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

What a wonderful getaway for the weekend! Quintessential lakeside cabin in the mountains. Furnished with everything you need, including great weather!! Very lovely property! The cabin was just adorable, very clean and well stocked will everything you need. Gorgeous view of the lake to relax by the fire pit. Our host and her staff were very easy to communicate with and very accommodating.

Amazing Stay!!

Moose Cabin was the perfect getaway for me, my wife, and our pup! There are hundreds of hiking trails within a short driving distance, Lake Placid is super close, and not to mention the cabin itself! It's very spacious and has everything you need. Right on the lake, we were able to take full advantage of the shared canoes, and our personal fire pit, and hammock! 10/10 would recommend!

Relaxing place to stay
