The room on the first floor was very nice, and the staff was super helpful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the parking situation. We had to park a couple of blocks away in a parking lot and I didn't exactly feel safe walking back after dinner.

Host was very nice as were both kitchen helpers. We very much enjoyed the Complimentary 4pm tea with nice sweet and savory treats. Everyone was super accommodating and tried to please. I feel where this hotel falls short (4 stars instead of 5) is in the room accommodation. We booked a king Garden Suite, acknowledging it was the cheapest offering. But it was still priced at just around $300/ night. (An expected price for a luxury hotel). However we didn’t realize it had an outdoor below ground level entrance and no windows. That wasn’t terrible, but even though it was basically clean, the room is somewhat dated and things in general were on the cheaper side. For example, the pump bottle of soap on the sink in the bathroom was super watery, feeling it was watered down to “stretch” it. The tissues felt cheap. There were robes and slippers in the closet but they were a weird gray material that was not inviting to put on. The seam was coming out on the slippers giving the feeling that the same ones might have been used over & over. These luxury items did not feel new, fresh or clean. The floors were all brick and cold. There was a thinish rug that barely covered under the bed, requiring slippers if you didn’t want to be barefoot on a cold floor. The lighting was as dim as could be. One dim fixture on the ceiling and super low lighting in the bathroom. Not ideal with no windows. The shower handle was loose and the key pad entrance lock didn’t work (needed new batteries).

6/10 Okay

Foat

The house was ok, nothing special. Staff could honestly be a little more friendly and happy to be there which didn’t feel like they did. Rooms were ok, shelf in bathroom was broken and barely hanging on couple screws. Also didn’t realize the room we were getting the door is outside, like a motel. So the only time we were inside the actual building was coming back from a walk in the evening and for breakfast. Not worth $400-500 a night. Quite disappointed to be honest. Breakfast though was good, lots of healthy options, everything looked fresh and the newly remodeled bathroom looked really good. I would have loved for the music to be more of the house time era to get a full vibe of the historic staying vs Justin Bieber that could be listened to anywhere anytime.

My wife and I were in Savannah for our 29th anniversary. I got lucky and chose Bellwether based on its location, previous reviews, and pictures. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. The included breakfast was also very good. Parking was a block away but they have a loading area right there which was great. The premises were very clean, well maintained, and interesting. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy the scenery, with a large courtyard and very nice front porch. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean, and updated. My only issue was the WiFi was unreliable so watching tv was difficult. I would definitely stay here again.

We had specifically chosen your hotel for New Years celebrations in Savannah. Unfortunately, throughout our stay, our room had no heat and at times no electricity Given that this occurred during winter, the conditions were extremely uncomfortable and unexceptable for upscale hotel like yours. Your hotel was not prepared for this weather. As a direct result of the cold conditions I became ill during the stay and after. This significantly affected my holiday celebrations. This situation caused distress and inconvenience and did not meet the basic standards of hospitality that was advertised and paid for. I believe it’s reasonable to expect services such as heating and electricity to be fully operational especially in December. I am therefore kindly requesting that you review this matter and provide appropriate compensation for the affected nights. Even though the staff was trying to resolve the issue but was not successful. I hope we can resolve this matter amicably. Please respond to me within a reasonable time frame on how this will be resolved.

My wife and I had a great stay at Bellwether House. The location was perfect next to the park. Quiet, charming and still walkable to everything you’d want to do. Matt and the rest of the staff were very hospitable. The tea service and breakfast were fantastic! We ate there every morning and evening (before dinner). We’ve already recommended staying here to a few friends and family and would book again without hesitation. 5 stars!

Wonderful "historic" home in a great part of town (midtown, just off Forsyth Park-we highly recommend staying in this part of town which is quiet and convenient). Owners did a great job of adding modern conveniences to the 19th century building making the experience comfortable while getting the feel for the character of Savannah. Staff was friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. We especially liked the second entrance to our room which led out to an expansive balcony.

Beautiful property, everyone who appreciates architecture will enjoy it. We stayed in the premium king room facing the street. It was quiet. The area is very walkable. The breakfast was nice, a lot of variety, amazing pastries. They also offer afternoon tea, which we tried once and champagne at 6pm. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. I would rate this property at 4.5 stars.
