Head outside to enjoy a backyard space with seating and an outdoor BBQ grill. When you’re ready to unwind indoors, there are board games and a DVD player. Practical perks include WiFi and an on-site EV charger ( adapter no included - guests must bring their own adapter). Guests also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities, including multiple recreation centers with outdoor pools, walking trails, and beach access points.

Important Things to Note

• Stairs: The home has stairs, including a circular stairwell to the lofts. The lofted sleeping areas have half-wall openings to the living room below, so sound may carry.

• WiFi/Cell: Due to Sea Ranch’s remote coastal location, WiFi and cell service can be spotty or occasionally unavailable across the area.

• Parking: Parking is available for up to 2 cars. Sea Ranch does not allow overnight street parking. No RVs, trailers, or mobile homes are allowed. Your guest packet (inside the home) includes parking and amenity details.

• Community amenities: Guests have access to Sea Ranch’s trail system, public beach access points, and three recreation centers with outdoor pools and sports courts (amenities vary by center). See the guest packet for maps, passes, and specific instructions.

• Beach access: There are 6 public beach access points within Sea Ranch. Use the provided trail maps and instructions in the guest packet for locations and entry points.

• Pet policy: This home is not pet friendly. If evidence of an animal is found during or after your stay, an additional cleaning fee will apply.

• EV charging: An EV charger is available on site. ( adapter no included - guests must bring their own adapter)

• Check in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 10:00 AM. We cannot guarantee or approve early check in or late checkout requests in advance.

• We recommend considering travel insurance, just in case any unexpected changes come up. We do stick to our cancellation policy and want to make sure you're covered!

• We provide bedding, towels and a small starter set of essentials to help get you settled. Feel free to message us for details on what’s included.

Within about 5 minutes of 261 Whale Bone Reach in Sea Ranch, you can enjoy the Sea Ranch Bluff Trail to Walk On Beach and Stengel Beach (easy ocean-view walks and tidepools), Shell Beach (sheltered cove exploring), the whimsical Sea Ranch Chapel (quick family stop), Gualala Point Regional Park at the north end (beach/river-mouth picnics and whale-watching), and the Del Mar Recreation Center for pool and tennis (for Sea Ranch owners/guests).

Beautiful location, house was fine but needed some attention.

House was fine and housed our family comfortably. Standard "rental" furniture which needs some upgrading as well as some of the rooms needed painting or sheet rock repairs. Heat in master bedroom did not work well. The master bedroom got uncomfortably hot in comparison to the rest of the house and could only be adjusted by opening and closing the windows. Also, the house is advertised on different social media sites as both accommodating 7 and 10 people-so which is it?

Family Stay

Great location! The house provided plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our family of 10, ranging in age from 1 to 71. We did have to do some quick baby-proofing due to all of the breakables at eye-level. The main kitchen light wasn't working and was too high for us to check the bulb. Some working nightlights would have been helpful for the little ones. Too late check-in and too-early check-out and soooo many (often conflicting) rules. Overall, though, a very nice family weekend stay.

Great house for kids

Not recommended for older adults who need to rise in the night to use the restroom. The master is palatial, bedroom 2 is average-sized, and the loft rooms are tiny, not very private, and the bathroom- shared amongst all 3 of the smaller bedrooms- is a perilous trip down metal spiral stairs. The sink taps need repair or replacement, the fireplace isn’t working, the wooden lawn chairs featured as the cover of the listing were not in evidence, and it’s an 8-minute walk to the trail head leading down to the ocean which is another 8-10 minutes away.

Sea Ranch vacation house

Overall a good experience. The house is spacious and in good condition. Note that the two upstairs bedrooms are lofts without doors that close so not a lot of privacy. No beach towels but the kitchen had lots of equipment for cooking. There is a table and chairs on the front deck but no umbrella for shade. Check in involved going to the management company’s office in Gualala to pick up the key (and drop it off again at check-out) - seems very unnecessary as the key could have been left in the lockbox next to the front door. Not related to the house, per se, but the restaurant options in Sea Ranch/Gualala are extremely limited and overall, not that great. The high point was Two Fish Bakery in Stewart’s Point - delicious bread, baked goods and sandwiches.

So peaceful and pleasant

A very well equipped home: multiple types of coffee makers, crockpot, tons of glassware and dishes, even a couple sizes of wetsuits! Was surprised there were no beach chairs though—those would have been very nice to have. All the beds were very comfortable and the towels and linens were plentiful. The Sea Ranch community is beautiful and serene. Gorgeous coastal landscape with so much wildlife and the walking/hiking trails are everywhere. Easy access to the beach but if you’re going for a “beach day” you’ll need to drive if you have gear to carry. As a matter of fact, this was a very car-centric trip. Lots of driving to get to the community pool, get into the nearest town for groceries, etc. If you have room, try to get groceries in Santa Rosa, Petaluma (depending on where you’re coming from) because prices are understandably sky high in Gualala and if you can stock up before you arrive then less driving back and forth into town. The community pool/tennis courts were great! Never too crowded and the multiple saunas were a real treat.

Nice house, but has not been maintained

Our family stays in Sea Ranch at least once a year, usually in different houses. This was a late booking so there wasn’t that much available. It’s a nice house and interesting design inside. The main problem was that the place hadn’t been well maintained, both short and long term. Some of the furniture was a bit smelly, as if it had been used heavily for 10+ years without being cleaned. When we arrived two main lights in the living room were not working. One was out and one was blinking on and off every minute or so. I tried tightening them up, but no luck. The screen door outside fell off the rails when I opened it and I couldn’t get it back on. We called the phone number and because it was Friday evening , there was no one available. I emailed for help and never got a reply to this day. The next day I went and bought some bulbs and fixed the lights. They worked fine with new bulbs. These were hanging lights so high up. My whole extended family loves going to Sea Ranch. We still had a lovely time, but part of the fun is staying in really neat houses. This was a bit of a disappointment. It’s not the house, it’s the management company, which we will not be using again.

We loved this house!

Five women stayed in this house for a long weekend. We very much enjoyed the internal space of this Sea Ranch home as well as the out the door trails to the sea. The kitchen was roomy, there is plenty of storage space, and the decor is ocean themed and not overdone. The house was very clean. There were flocks of birds visible each morning right out the kitchen and dining windows. We also saw a large flock of quail in the yard and several deer around the grounds. You can purchase all your groceries up the road in Gualala. If the trails and beaches on the Sea Ranch stretch aren't enough for you, Salt Point State Park is just down the road and the Gualala River State (?) Park is just north. Fantastic place, wish we could go there once a quarter!

Very comfortable, lovely home. Plenty of room for everyone & more. Kitchen had all items you might need to make meals. We spent 2 nights here & it was a beautiful property. Plenty of beds to accommodate many people, plus extra roll away beds if needed. Sea Ranch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the ocean and surrounding areas. You won’t be disappointed in this property.

Very beautiful and private property.

We were very comfortable here. We would definitely return. The fridge should probably be wiped out on the inside and there was one rag on the floor the housekeeper probably dropped while cleaning. No real complaints here.

The property was dirty - dog hairs, mouse droppings, dead woodlice, even a piece of glass on the floor. Maybe we just got unlucky with the cleaners. Even aside from that the property felt in a poor state - stained carpets and strong sense of stale smoke in some of the bedrooms. One of the double mattresses was old and uncomfortable. Just needs updating and a deep clean
