I was looking forward to staying at this hotel because I'm familiar with the APA hotels in Japan. However, I was greatly disappointed with my experience. The room wasn't thoroughly cleaned—there were short hairs and coffee stains near the sink area.
Additionally, my room was located at the end of the hallway next to the ice machine, which meant I could hear the constant hum of the machine all night. To make matters worse, the hallway lights seeped through the edges of the door, so my room was never completely dark.
There was also a door next to my bed, which I assume was meant to connect to the room next door for guests sharing two rooms. However, the door lock seemed faulty. Even though it was likely locked, the door didn’t close fully and appeared to be floating slightly.
I understand that many services have shifted to QR codes and self-service, but I still think it’s important for front desk staff to briefly explain the hotel’s facilities upon check-in.
Overall, I chose this hotel because it was within my budget, but I expected more from a Japanese-owned company.
