Short stay in Seattle

Hotel was busy due to cruise ships and proximity to Lumen field. Good size rooms, clean. Elevators were a little slow but staff was friendly.

For the price of the room we were not impressed , the bed was slanted towards the head, there was a huge wet spot on the floor in front of the air conditioner the entire time.We were there, there was no microwave. I felt like that upholstery in the lobbies were very dirty, we went to have a drink and an appetizer at the bar.And there was only one man working and there was a line of people waiting to order.And get drinks so we went somewhere else, the lines that the elevator were sometimes ten minute waits, the room was very muggy. And uneven on the floor, the lamp in the bedroom sofa area had to be plugged in behind the couch.There was no switch on Ito, say the least.We were not impressed for the price of the room.

The property was overwhelmed one weekend. The room service menu was not available due to insufficient stock on hand. The property appeared to be understaffed and poorly provisioned for the full house. The staff on hand did an admirable job of trying to ensure that guests had a good experience. They were nearly completely successful.

Elevator nightmare

On the day we checked out, only one elevator was functioning. There was a note we saw (after check in) that the elevators would be unavailable during the night, but would be up and running by 5:00 am. I would say 3/4 of the people staying in the hotel were staying there “pre-cruise” and had to check out by 10:00 or so to get to their ships. The elevators were not working ( except maybe one) all morning. Some of my family had to go down 23 flights of stairs with all their luggage. One of my group’s luggage broke on the stairs and that made it very difficult to traverse the remaining stairs and ultimately, nearly impossible to embark the cruise. He had to purchase a new suitcase! I can’t imagine a worse time for a hotel to do elevator maintenance than the morning of a cruise embarkation day - especially with so many elderly people as guests.

Front desk agent who helped us was friendly and helpful. Although our room was a little dirty, I expected that to happen with how busy the area was for the weekend we came up. The gal working in the food area wasn’t nice to us when we were ordering breakfast items.

I recently stayed at your property, Seattle Renaissance Hotel, on Saturday July 26-27 and I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service I received during check-in with one on your front desk staff associates. I arrived at 4:13 PM and was told my room was not ready and to wait for a call when I'd be able to come back to the front desk when my room was available. I received that call at 5:13pm and the front desk staff member, a woman, was not only unhelpful, but also downright rude and dismissive when I told her I received a call stating my room was finally ready. I had called the day prior to ensure an early 3pm check in due to the Morgan Wallen concert my girlfriends and I were attending. She was extremely rude and raised her voice when I mentioned the possibility of receiving a discount or partial refund on valet to make up for this inconvenience of having to wait over an hour to check in AND the fact that my room wasn't ready till after 5 PM. She was hostile and acted completely inappropriate when she told me in a scolding manner that I would not be receiving any compensation and seemed bewildered that I would even ask given the circumstances. After our conversation, she slammed my room key on the counter without saying another word. This is not the level of service I expect from a hotel of your reputation.

Arrived at 3 pm no rooms available. Waited an hour and a half still no room when check in is at 4 pm. Was told they are understaffed but in my opinion you’re charging almost 500 per night idc about your staffing issues. Overall just a terrible experience
