We stayed here to catch the sunrise at Seongsan Iichubong. The hotel is very basic and room was sparse. The bath and toilet are not segregated meaning the whole place gets wet after a shower. There are two EV charging points which is a nice touch.

There is no one a the front counter until 11 am. We arrived at 9 am and entered the hotel , there was no one to talk to. There is a baker/cafe which was never open while we were there. In the town it is very difficult to find somewhere to get a breakfast. The room was acceptable with the exception of the carpet which was "crunchy " old and stained . It was not cheap and not good value for the dollar , consider other options

This is a fairly basic hotel with limited services and facilities. Pros: - located within walking distance to Seongsan Ilchubong - Restaurants, fast food and convenience stores nearby - EV charging stations - Rooms are spacious Cons: - Very basic amenities - Toilet and shower do not have any partitions - No laundry facilities

Great location in the small town of Seongsan. Rooms have great views of either the volcano or the lake opposite. Can't really fault the hotel very much for the price paid. Everything was functional, rooms were clean and spacious. Rooms were a little sparse though, given the large size of the rooms, the tiny table and chair provided looked tiny in the space provided. Breakfast was ok and there was ample free self-parking. I was fortunate that my wife speaks Korean because I don't think any of the staff speak any English at all, but it's always possible to get by with a translator app. Last thing, they don't use keys or swipe cards here to enter your rooms. They use a pin code access panel on your room door (akin to typical Korean homes). The check-in staff will give you a little receipt that has your room number and 4-digit pin code on it and lot of Korean text. It's fairly straightforward to operate, but not something I expected as this is pretty uncommon in most Western countries.

Horrible with bug spray

Uninhabitable. The room and hallway reeked of Raid or a similar-smelling insect spray. I had difficulty breathing so we had to leave. It threw me into a coughing fit! There was no clerk on duty when we left. We tried to reach management but no one answered and by the time they called back a couple hours later, we had already left. Though we did not use the room at all and exited immediately, this hotel refused to refund us our money.

Clean and Basic Stay - Good Value

This was a quick stay in Seongsan the night before hiking the crater for sunrise. They say that checkin closes at 10 pm, so I rushed a bit to make sure I arrived in time, and checked in about 8:50 pm. They make a big deal about saying the breakfast runs from 7:30 to 9, but that you should get there by 8:30 because they close it at 9. I thought it was a bit odd that the hours were so limited, given that many of their visitors (and indicated in the name of the actual hotel) come there for sunrise at the top of a crater! That day sunrise was at 7:17 and I decided that I didnโ€™t want to rush back to the hotel for the breakfast. Get breakfast at the Starbucks at the base of the crater instead. They display signs stating that no food or drinks are allowed in the guest rooms, which I thought was odd. Especially given their very limited hours for the cafe in the lobby. The room itself was clean and spartan. They provided 4 hand-sized towels for the room, and I immediately placed two of them on the floor to mitigate the shower run off, and dried myself with the other two. They were the roughest feeling towels Iโ€™ve ever experienced. The Wifi worked well, and the hotel was located in a convenient spot, on the main road and a short walk to the crater. Itโ€™s a self check-out process where you leave the key in a basket. Overall, you get what you pay for. This was $58 USD and served my needs well. Although I chucked quite a bit at the extent of their penny-pinching.

Nice location to visit Sunrise Peak, Udo Island and other attractions nearby. We like the breakfast the most, including western style food and Korean seafood porridge.
