We booked our stay at the beginning of October for 4 days and left early. It’s important for people to know that the pictures shown are from an MLS listing and do not reflect the current condition of the property. The exterior is in disarray. The outdoor fire pit and much of the outdoor furniture was dirty, broken, and unusable. The outdoor grill, dirty and non functioning. Everything was dusty and seemed to not have been used for some time. It should also be clearly stated that people know to bring in their own water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. The water at the house is filled with iron and rust, and 100% NOT POTABLE. The showers and toilets are badly stained as a result. The beds were clean and comfortable and the property has a wonderful river view but unfortunately it needs major cleaning and maintenance to reflect how it’s being represented here. Particulary for the cost.

Spacious, floor plan. Great view of Whiskey Bayou. With proper management, maintenance, & cleaning of porch...it could have been very enjoyable. NEGATIVE: 1. This unit was located roughly 2 miles down a dusty very rough, washboard gravel road. 2. WE SPENT 1-1/2 HOURS TRYING TO GET THE CODE WE WERE GIVEN, TO UNLOCK DOORS. 3. We repeatedly called the "24 hour" emergency number. No answer. Left messages. No return call. Drove back down rough, dusty road into town, and rented motel. No one called back the next morning. I called their number the next day. Kaye said the person on call had an emergency the night before, and was not available to take the call. I hope everyone is OK. Apparently someone forgot to update the electronic locks for the code we were given. When we went back out to the home the next day...the code we had been given...and had used about 30 times the night before, worked this time. Kaye graciously said she would refund the charges on my credit card, for the one night. 4. A/C did not cool bedroom my friend was in. 5. Showers & shower curtains were so badly stained, we did not feel comfortable using showers. 6. Numerous light bulbs missing. 7. Smoke detectors had been removed. 8. Back porch was very dirty.Rear yard messy & unkept. PERHAPS THERE WERE EXTINUATING CIRCUMSTANCES? IF SO, I WISH EVERYONE WELL. I WANT TO BE FAIR TO THE OWNERS. I TRUELY WISH I COULD GIVE A GOOD REVIEW....BUT THAT WOULD NOT BE FAIR TO PROSPECTIVE RENTERS.
