The country cottage 'Chauprades' manages to combine the character of old stone and the charm of wood with the functionality of modern living. This superb farmhouse has spacious volumes and it nestles perfectly into the heart of the rolling countryside of Lot et Garonne.
The 1.3 acres garden which surrounds the building is constituted of large open spaces for sunbathing, but also shaded and wooded areas for a well-deserved nap in one of the hammocks. The large private swimming pool (14 x 6 meters) immediately delights children and parents alike.

The cottage itself has 5 bedrooms which can accommodate up to 12 people (2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 3 upstairs), 2 bathrooms with showers and bathtubs, etc. There's even a game room for those less sunny days!
The entire ground floor is suitable for disabled people in wheelchairs.

In a corner of the plot is the small house where I live, very discreetly. I have a separate access to the grounds and believe me, you will not be disturbed during your stay (but I think I had to mention it). Nevertheless, here you can come and get information about local activities, restaurants, etc.

Rental of the gîte 'Chauprades' is generally from Saturday to Saturday but please do not hesitate to e-mail me for any other request.

A wonderful stay

Chauprades is a beautiful property in a lovely rural location with lots of space (inside and outside) for a large family and friends. The owner was welcoming, friendly and very helpful (his English is very good). The terrace is lovely for eating and enjoying the evenings and the pool really is as big as it looks in the pictures. There are good local amenities a short drive away (Lauzun, Eymet and Castillionnes) and lots to do and explore in the area. Otherwise you can relax in the hammocks under the trees and play boules/table tennis/badminton..

Séjour de 2 semaines début août. Maison de campagne, au calme, aucun voisin. Intérieur un peu vieillissant, notamment cuisine, pas vraiment d’espace convivial pour un groupe en cas de pluie, mais couchage confortable pour 3 couples et 6 enfants. Dans les chambres à l’étage (enfants et un couple) il fait très chaud, malgré nombreux ventilateurs. Grand jardin plat, piscine de 15m non chauffée, pool house désinvesti, salon de jardin vétuste. A notre arrivée nous avons dû décaper le barbecue, remettre en état le baby-foot, installer les hamacs, le sac de frappe, le salon de jardin (mais les cousins étaient sous clé…), remettre en état le terrain de pétanque (mais en vain, non praticable), tailler les rosiers grimpants pour cesser de nous griffer le crâne, retirer les toiles d’araignée au-dessus de l’espace repas extérieur, nous avons même arrosé les plantes (avec plaisir). Rien de terrible en soi, si ce n’est que l’hôte a retenu 50 sur la caution pour avoir laissé en place les hamacs et le sac de frappe (croyant bien faire), achevé un petit matelas gonflable, déplacé des bibelots dans la maison, et… oublié de nettoyer le barbecue….!Au final, nous avons passé un bon séjour. JD est un hôte sympa et arrangeant, mais la maison manquait franchement de préparation et d’une petite mise à jour, ce qui nous fait considérer qu’elle est louée trop chère en l’état, à fortiori avec la retenue sur caution, ce qui pour le coup nous semble vraiment déplacé.

Séjour très agréable dans un cadre très calme dans une propriété bien aménagée malgré le refus du propriétaire de vouloir baisser la température extérieure prétextant qu'il ne gérait pas le soleil... A recommander pour les groupes désirant le calme ou...se lâcher.

Superbe et vaste maison hyper calme
