Beautiful house, view, and area to stay in! Our kids loved the game areas inside and outside activities as well. Unfortunately there was not enough bedding for all of the beds, and the host took a long time to get back to us; we had to reach out to VRBO to contact him directly. By the time they did get back to us and offer to send bedding (over 24 hours later), it was late on our second (and last) night and we had already managed the bedding issue by using towels and throw blankets. It seems the delay was because the host was out of the country, but it was still not ideal . Additionally, we were never able to use the hot tub because it never even reached 90, even though it was turned on prior to our stay. That was a key reason we selected this place, so that was very disappointing. Had there been bedding and a working hot tub, our stay would have been perfect!

This rental is hands down, a great stay! The home was clean, cozy, accommodating, and had a HECK of a view! We encountered a bit of snow and a late night arrival but the home was well lit, and ready to go. The very next morning, we were honored to host a bear friend who walked right through the yard while we sipped our tea! The distance to the Smokey Mountain National Park and surrounding experiences was convenient, while still feeling secluded. The games provided were plentiful. You had a range of outdoor and indoor activities to choose from without ever leaving the home. It was a wonderful reprieve from the 'normal world' and we would love to come back in the spring to see the mountain bloom!

Hot tub could have been warmer. Large rug was dirty. Didn’t like washer dryer combo, cloths were always damp, never completely dry. Mirror in the bathroom is up too high. I’m 5’4”, and I would have to get on my tippy toes to see.

This property was a great location in the smokies. We all greatly enjoyed the hot tub and projector/TV out on the deck. To our surprise, we saw a bear within the first 5 minutes of being at the property. That was really cool!! Unfortunately a lot of the amenities listed were not working. Many of the hatchets for the axe throwing were broken. The Atari was not working. The fuse ball table was broken, not allowing the one side to score. We had to switch the batteries between the inside TV and the projector TV because those were the only batteries that worked. Also, the washer/dryer combo had wet towels in it that we didn't discover until our second day there and they were stinky.Additionally, and perhaps not really the owners fault, but they were constructing another cabin about 50 yards away. When we booked this site, the pictures did not show any neighbors at all. That cabin looked almost identical to the one we stayed in, leading me to believe it is the same owner, but I may be wrong. Regardless, a heads up that we would be waking up to a construction crew hammering in the morning would have been nice.Overall, we had an enjoyable couple days at the hideout. In the grand scheme of things, it was minor inconveniences.

We had a great time! This cabin is in an amazing location and we would stay here again. The host was very responsive and overall, we had a great time! The only two things that kept us from giving 5 stars were: 1- It’s not really two bedrooms. It’s more of a room divider in between the living room and “2nd bedroom”. There isn’t a door and the wall doesn’t go to the ceiling. If it had just been me and my husband, that would be great but because the kids stayed in that room, we had to be totally quiet after they went to bed and couldn’t really enjoy the house much after 8pm. 2- This is of no fault of the owners, but there was constant construction going on behind the house and the workers were very loud (both with music and yelling to each other) starting at 8am every morning. It woke us up every day and we weren’t able to enjoy the porch or sounds/sights of nature as much as we were hoping. We would stay again in the future when it’s over but wouldn’t have chosen this property for this trip had we known (we have quite a bit of neighborhood construction going on at home and were looking forward to getting away from it on this trip!). Again, great property, location, and host!! We also saw a bear in the yard one evening which was so fun. My husband and I would definitely stay here in the future but may choose a different place if we bring the kids just so we have more privacy!

We had an absolute wonderful stay, and it was very peaceful. Just what our family needed. There were some housekeeping items that I came across, but reached out to the owner who was extremely responsive and friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Plus the coffee shop that was recommended was amazing. A perfect stay for our family.

I brung my family in for my birthday. We absolutely loved this property! I've been going to the mountains for years and i have never had a face to face encounter with a bear. Until this trip. Like clock work. We had a young black bear come through every morning of our vacation. It was so cool!! We definitely recommend this property and host 10 out of 10 they checked all the boxes for us.

Weekend Getaway

Our family of 4 stayed at Hideout for 2 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The kids, 4 and 1, had a lot of fun with the outdoor toys, the arcade game and the Roku the tvs inside. The cabin was a mix of mountain cabin and new, modern design. The hosts were also great at communicating with the couple of questions we had. We would love to come back in the future!

Great place in the Smokies

We stayed 2 nights recently and found the hideout clean and spacious with fun activities. The views were not quite as spectacular as the listing photos but you can still see the mountains peeking above the trees. Everything we needed was available. Google maps lead us directly to the site. We were lucky enough to watch a black bear lumber through the yard. The hot tub and foosball table were well used by our family. Great communication and the hosts do not have wild expectations upon leaving asking only that trash was taken out and dishwasher started. Easy and low stress! Thanks for opening this space for enjoyment!

Amazing Family Trip

This property was absolutely amazing, very close to the national park. Our family was more into sight seeing and hiking spent a lot of time in the smoky mountains. But also close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which we did venture out too. This cabin was perfect for my small family two adults and two kids. Hot Tub was nice after a long day. Already planning our next trip to Tennessee. We are already thinking about staying here again because it was that amazing. Thank you!

Great cabin - Easy to recommend

Everything was as expected, except for the floors. Seems the cleaning crew suffered an oversight and failed to clean the floors before our arrival. Owner was very responsive and got the crew back out there the same day I reported. They finished before we returned for the day. A testament to the host.
