The prestigious villa location is in the heart of ancient location where was province of Roman empire Salona (the first mention originates about 7th century BC).
Later in the history in the 10th century on the exact place where the villa is located were home of Croatian royal family. On the same place queen Helena built the churches of St. Stephen and St. Mary in Solin.
