Castle Retreat - a Sonoma Wine Country Hidden treasure

You will know you have arrived on your wine country vacation when you roll the garden gate open and enter your private garden paradise. The main house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an inviting open living area with gourmet kitchen. The master bedroom opens to private deck area, and private bathroom with claw foot tub, duel sinks and separate shower. Bedroom #1 has a queen sized bed, and bedroom #2 has 2 twin beds. The open living area is ideal for entertaining; equipped with plenty of cozy seating, 50" flat screen TV with full cable and fireplace for those cool nights. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities you will need to create incredible meals and memories.

Looking outside you notice more gardens, pool with built in hot tub, outdoor kitchen and eating area, bocce ball court and plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the warm weather.

Across from the main house is the pool house with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, full kitchen and comfortable living area. The bedroom has 1 queen sized bed and 1 twin bunk bed..
During your stay at this vacation home, you'll be within walking distance of Sonoma Plaza. An outdoor pool and a hot tub are available. A private pool and a kitchen are available in the vacation home.

Sonoma Trip

Property was great and the house had everything that we needed. It comfortably slept 8 people and had an excellent layout for entertaining a large party. Proximity to Sonoma Square was nice also and offered the ability to walk rather thann drive.

Thanksgiving in Sonoma

Wonderful house and property in a great location. Very close to Sonoma Square. House was very well equipped. Loved the backyard and the Bocce Ball court. Manager was extremely accommodating to our needs. There is even a beautiful winery property at the end of the street with walking trails. Highly recommend.

Sonoma Oasis

Castle retreat is a fantastic house - the backyard is the real stunner. Beautiful pool, hot tub, abundant seating areas, bocce, etc. Dave was a great property manager and even took us for a wine tour one day. Can walk or bike to downtown Sonoma with ease. Kitchen was well stocked with tools and was a pleasure to cook in. Overall great stay - would return.

Napa Wine Therapy!

We truly enjoyed this property! The yard is fabulous, we enjoyed dinner outdoors, grilled, played bocce ball, and used the hot tub/pool. Apple, pear, fig, pomegranate and persimmon trees all had fruit, not to mention all the herbs! Wow!! The house has all necessary amenities, fully stocked kitchen, blow dryer in every bathroom, lots of bath and pool towels!! Definitely recommend and we will be back!

Girl's Trip!

We stayed at Castle Retreat to celebrate my mother's 65th birthday. The house did not disappoint and easily accommodated 9 of us . Downtown Sonoma was easy to access, as were nearby Downtown Napa and Yountville. Dave helped plan much of our trip and was the perfect tour guide for our day of tastings in the Dry Creek Valley and Healdsburg. He also prepared an amazing dinner on our last night at the house. I can't recommend Castle Retreat enough if you plan to visit Sonoma!

AMAZING HOME!!

You know how sometimes, the pictures of a property look great, but you are disappointed when you show up? This is NOT the case with this house! It was even better in person and was the perfect retreat for us when we visited the area for a girl's trip. The house was super comfortable and had everything we needed, plus more. And that backyard! WOW! I wish I could have just moved in to stay! I plan on returning and staying longer so I can enjoy this home again. If your dates are available, book it before you miss it! You will not regret it!

If you are looking to spend some time in Sonoma, this is a great place to do it. within walking distance to the main square, it really is convenient. The house was so charming and comfortable and the back yard was wonderful with pool, pool house, spa, grill, alfresco dining and Bocci ball! the owner and property manager are absolutely wonderful and most accommodating.

Wonderful house and wonderful experience!

The house was perfect for our girls weekend. My only complaint was that the weather didn’t cooperate - so we’ll just have to plan a return trip so we can take full advantage of the awesome yard! David was extremely helpful and available whenever we needed help. Definitely recommend.

Great place for a family get-away

Beautiful house and gardens a quick drive/bike from downtown Sonoma. Recommend bringing bikes as the neighborhood and the roads into town do not have sidewalks and the cars drive pretty fast. Our family really enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and trying our hand at making pizzas in the woodfire oven. We also loved that the family dog was able to join us --truly made for a full family vacation. The only reasons we are giving four stars instead of five was that the beds were small and the mattresses uncomfortable, and we had some trouble with the water heater resulting in a number of cold showers. Overall though we really enjoyed our time here.

The most amazing place in world. The grounds and house are to amazing to describe. This made my 60th Birthday the best. David is amazing he knows the best winery. Very detailed house. It was like a true Castle Retreat.! I’m 😍

We had a wonderful time at Castle Retreat! The home is beautiful and the outdoor spaces were fantastic! Sonoma Square was an easy walk. David was a terrific driver for our winery tours. We would definitely recommend this property!

Amazing!

We had the best time at the Castle retreat. The space is perfect for relaxing with friends and exploring Sonoma. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked and the space was very clean. My only caveat is that it was tough to get a hold of the owner to get instructions for how to access the house.

Magnificent home in Sonoma

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Castle Retreat. The location is private and tranquil, but close enough to the town square that we could easily walk to get coffee and pastries in the morning. The home is stunning; beautifully decorated, well appointed, and incredibly comfortable. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect spread for extended family getaway

Stayed here as a family of 4 plus 3 other family members. I wouldn’t go too much larger than that. Guest house was great for accommodating my 85yr old father who likes to move around at night. What I really enjoyed was the authenticity of the neighborhood (loved the rooster crowing next door) and the proximity of the neighboring vineyards for family picnics. So easy to drop into downtown Sonoma for lunch. Many thanks to David for instructing us on the pizza oven. Kitchen impressively well stocked.

Such a beautiful and comfortable property! Perfect location to everything in Sonoma.

Our group had such an amazing time at this beautiful home. David was so great and we didn’t want to leave! It was so central to all the wineries we wanted to go to and super close to everything downtown. The pool was also a life saver on the super hot days. Highly recommended!

Beautiful home, guest house and outside landscaped areas.

This home is well stocked with essentials. The beds and bedding were fabulous! We enjoyed meeting David - he was so helpful and he gave us great suggestions on wineries to visit. He even brought a bridge table and chairs for our group of bridge ladies. Location in Sonoma is in a lovely quiet neighborhood.

Lovely home, as advertised, dry comfortable, good kitchen to cook in, great outdoor dining and playing space. It was too cold for pool but we enjoyed the bocce court and porches. Nice new gas grill out back.

Beautiful and Convenient!

We had the most pleasant stay here for a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway. David was so easy to work with, the house is beautiful, and very close to Sonoma square and wineries. I'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking to enjoy Sonoma.

It felt like our second home!

The Sonoma Castle Retreat experience was stellar. We had six people in our group and the general consensus was that we want to come back again in the near future. The grounds were clean and well kept. The outside porch was great for reading and conversing. We sat out there with our tea, pastries and coffee in the morning. The neighborhood is about a mile from Bartholomew park and Buena winery. Some of us waslked there on a Friday morning and enjoyed a very majestic panoramic view of the winery and valley. Also, some of the people in the group had never met. The house allowed us to engage in a very familial atmosphere . It was a great experience for all.
