Stayed here overnight to go to an Ironstone Winery concert in Murphys. Clean, comfy, and very nostalgic of the gold rush era. Cute rooms with AC that works okay-ish. Nice pool! Super lovely staff that runs this historic landmark hotel, which is conveniently located within short walking distance to nice eateries and restaurants, as well as adorable shops in Sonora

Quaint hotel

This is a historic hotel in the heart of downtown Sonora. The decor is quirky but overall charming. Our air conditioner worked well until it started making screeching noise during the night. The breakfast is impressive with homemade cakes and a frittata and the coffee is good. Also the usual breakfast stuff like the waffle maker.

Great place for Yosemite trip

Historic hotel. We stayed for our Yosemite trip. Great location with a nice town and plenty of restaurants close by. The staff gave exceptional service. Awesome breakfast. Highly recommend.

This hotel has so much history and must have been beautiful in it's heyday, but it is in serious need of a refresh. The furniture was charming but falling apart. The room was tidy, but in serious need of a deep clean, and I found ringmarks and hair on the tables and other surfaces. The walls were thin, and in my street-facing room I could hear traffic all day and night in addition to my neighbors in other rooms.

First of all the door had to be played with to get to open and they knew the door knob was not working properly because they showed me why not just fix it second the toilet wouldn’t even flush pee really what if was taco Tuesday

Very old fashion. Couple pieces of furniture were broken. Lamps did not work. Bedspread and pillow covers needed to get washed. Bathroom had prior people dirty towels in there. TV remote did not work.

I think the property has gone downhill recently compared to the reviews on this and other sites. The location is excellent, but I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

the Gunn House is full of antiques but the property has not been kept up some of the handrails on the second floor are loose and dangerous and handrails should be added everywhere there are stairs. I will not be staying there again
